What's new

Crew members at AWA fly seperate... US together

Raytec's or LAPS? 😛
The first time I put one on, I actually thought I was going to faint. I kept saying, "I can't breathe"! Someone would say, "Oh, you'll get used to it". I said, "No really, I can't breathe! All right then, if I pass out, just push me aside". I finally figured that the top plastic strip goes on the outside, along with the brand name.

Isn't that the SAME exchange you had with that pilot on the layover in MAN a few years back???? You know the one, where I drank so much crew juice I fell on my face getting into the crew van?

Silly US1YFARE, pilots are no longer of any interest to us now that their retirement is gone. We've moved on to lawyers....

I've learned a few things since then...just relax and breathe through your nose...

We've moved on to lawyers....
Especially sensitive ones like Anna Nicole's. BooHooHooHoo.

Just as that Warren Zevon song title, "Lawyers, Guns & Money". Can get me out of this.

So I guess there's no need to stay with our pilots anymore? "Me too" isn't looking so good now.
In all seriousness, I am torn on the issue. If we stay with them, we have protections that we most likely will never see again. If we split from them, we will be able to do so many more high time turns, which is good for many of us. I would bet that the 25 hour layovers would be a thing of the past for the FA's. This would be fine for me, but my ideal trips may differ from others. What to do?

Test, JetBlue used to do JFK/Long Beach/ATL, have a 26 hour RON, then reverse for about 21 hours in 3 days. At least we could look at doing some of our trips like this, possibly.

We used to stick with them because the "Me Too" clause was to our advantage but the pilots have lost a lot, so it's kind of like tying ourselves to a sinking ship. We'll have to see what happens to their contract negotiations. BTW...DOH all the way!

The big difference is that the East F/As can only fly up to eight flight hours domestically. I hear that the West can go to fourteen.

If you're talking about block hours (time when the plane pushes back until it comes to rest after flight) the west FAs have no limits. They have scheduled and actual duty limitations ( the time the arrive at the airport until they 15mins after their last flight).

109,

Ooh, never thought of trips built like that!

USCrew,

Agreed, DOH all the way for all!
