I posted a few months ago that everyone would be very surprised with the new executive team. While we all have made our share of mistakes, Al Crellin is the most qualified for this position and I am thankful that he is still on board. Congrats Al on your new endeavor. Don't be bothered by the naysayers on this forum as they don't pay your salary. Jerry and Chris both will do fine as they are extremely talented individuals.

You are unable to see/understand the disconnect between current management and the rank and file. You cannot help it. It was 'believed" that Parker was concerned about morale and having employees on board with the "new" company. And I'm sure you think that it is just a rowdy few on this board that don't agree with this pick for VP. Rest assured that even to the silent masses at US this is probably the single most damaging choice that could have been made in regard to employee morale.

Has anyone considered writing Investor Relations with your opinions about this choice? Their site is at http://www.americawest.com/awa/content/abo...or_contact.aspx
or e-mail investor.relations@americawest.com

Due your due diligence and perhaps you could contact these members of the Board of Directors:

Herbert M. Baum
Chairman of the Board, President and CEO, Dial Corporation

John L. Goolsby
President and CEO (retired), The Howard Hughes Corporation

Matthew J. Hart
President and COO, Hilton Hotels Corporation

Walter T. Klenz
Chairman and CEO, Beringer Blass Wine Estates

Richard C. Kraemer
President, Chartwell Capital, Inc.

Robert J. Miller
Senior Partner, Jones Vargas

Denise M. O'Leary
Private Investor

Richard P. Schifter
Managing Partner, Texas Pacific Group

John F. Tierney
Managing Director, Castletown Financial Services

J. Steven Whisler
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Phelps Dodge Corporation

I feel for all of you....Cream may rise, but it can be spoiled also. We all have AC's in our operations, we have one in the CLT Aviation Dept, his name is M Wiebke he is in charge of system wide maintenance and has driven this airport into the ground and employee moral to boot. The dumbass will come out AC and all the HP managment will be there to see it, then he'll be bye bye. Good Luck!!

   🙁

The old expression "shocked, but not surprised!" has probably been uttered by a great many at US today!

Decorum keeps me from elaborating on what my reaction was.

If the goal was to be in bankrupsy twice, have worst service rating in the history of the company, and drive moral to an all time low, then you are correct. Al's been extremely successful with that.

Hmmm. Glass, Crellin. I told you all where Dr. Evil goes, MiniMe would follow along. You all just don't understand. These losers see a whole new company out there to pillage, loot and steal from.

I can see Glass sticking around because he did accomplish something in folding US labor groups. But as long as I can remember I can't recall Crellin getting anything constructive done. Maybe someone out there can outline what this guy has done since PSA days. It seems everything he has been in charge of has went to hell.

I remember years ago he was a regional director. The station I was in was in his region. He blew in one day, held a mandatory station meeting, told us all a pack of lies for about one hour and left.

Well anyway, just when you think it's safe to go back into the water.

Good luck to all. You're going to need all you can get.

You have 7/8ths of the management team from AWA and one person from US. I bet most people would not have been happy with any US mgmt staying around. Try to look at the positive. 7/8ths is AWA mgmt and the 1/8th coming from US is now reporting to an AWA employee. Let's look to the positive.

Jerry was in PHL as well working with Chris Chiames.

I think at this point, there is such bad blood among senior ranks as a whole that AWA should let the Senior Execs go.

A good example of this was Baldanza v.s. Ashby

I thought you were a pilot, not a customer?

AND I still stand by my assessment that they WANTED you to know it came from CCY. I bet it was done purposely, not accidentally.

Yes your right HP has 7 of 8 positions, but you have to be somewhat concerned, Exec VP of Ops!!!! There is no positive here..

I am going to go with Piney Bob for the moment---perhaps it's cheaper to keep him around for a while.

One will note he only has operations now..no responsibility for employee relations or customer service.

My gut says Mr. Parker knows what he's doing.

My best to you all.....

Sorry, Art, we'll have to disagree on this one.

It'd be cheaper to send Al home and mail his paycheck to him. It's not what he is paid that costs so much; it's the decisions he makes.

Better yet, as U is an adept at using BK to wriggle out of contracts, they could skip the paycheck and say, sue me.

It appears U has plenty of legal advice on hand. 😉

The problem with that is, 10 years ago, Al was 1/8th of the problem at U.
