Delta 777 and 767 in CLT?

Was in CLT today and saw a Delta 777 at a gate and a 767 on the hardstand. Just wondering where these planes go? I've commuted on Delta through ALT and it was usually an RJ, can't believe they upgraded from a CRJ900 to a 777. Thanks.

Were there still strong T-storms in ATL today? If so they were most likely diversions as CLT is the closest int'l airport from ATL with terminals that can handle ac of this size!

Delta had 3 international diversions Monday night that canceled in CLT b/c of weather in ATL.

It's a good thing that CLT has a few intl. flights of its own. Otherwise the DL pax would have had to wait a bit for the customs and immigrations officers to show up.

Guess you never been to D-Con during the international arrivals, you forget the island flights have to go through customs also, its a cluster from 4-8pm.
