Does anyone have details on the diversion of US94 (Charlotte to Gatwick) to Boston on Sunday night?
Apparently, there was a problem with disruptive passenger(s). The flight arrived in Gatwick several hours late.

ahhhh...the joys of working with the General Public.......probably upset over having to set in a center seat.....and having to turn off his cell phone......

UK Passenger Charged In Rage Incident On US Airways Flight
July 13, 2005

BOSTON (AP)--A London-bound flight from North Carolina was diverted to Boston after an allegedly intoxicated British passenger attacked crew members and threatened to kill all 247 people on board, prosecutors said.

Sean Simon John Joyce, 38, was arrested Monday night at Logan International Airport and charged with assaulting and intimidating a flight crew member and a flight attendant.

His court-appointed lawyer, Michael Andrews, said Joyce suffers from a sinus infection and had an adverse reaction to the medication. He said Joyce had been visiting his parents in Florida and was on his way home to London.

Authorities say Joyce, who lives in London, boarded US Airways Flight 94 in Charlotte, N.C., after taking a connecting flight there from Miami. The flight crew said he began drinking white wine and taking pills and quickly became abusive.

"He pushed at least one flight attendant, took off his shirt, and butted another crew member in the face," according to an affidavit written by FBI agent Scott P. Dietsche.

As the crew and passengers tried to handcuff Joyce, Dietsche said, "He continually hit and spit on those trying to subdue him, swore repeatedly, and threatened to kill those subduing him, as well as all the passengers on the entire plane."

The plane, which at the time was about 150 miles east of Boston, was diverted to Logan.

Joyce made an appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Boston, and the magistrate scheduled a probable cause hearing for Friday to determine whether he can remain jailed while he awaits trial. Prosecutors argued that Joyce is likely to flee or pose a danger if released

The charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

i suffer from sinus infections periodically and the only time i have an adverse reaction is when they ask for a doctors excuse......
all it takes is one clown on a flight...

Ever look on the side effects for sinus medications..
one side effect is that a person may become fearful become paranoid
that he drank alchohol made it worse for him

so be care of drugs and read side effects carefully

well if he had read the medication and it said not to drink alcohol, then it is is his own dam fault for getting into his own rage because he failed to drink something other than alcohol. he had a choice and he made a bad choice and now is in jail.

Over the years, Ive had someone throw their cell phone at me because I couldnt get them out of a center seat, call me names that reflect on my "parentage" because the flight was oversold and they had to wait for a seat, scream and yell and demand I call a flight back to the gate because they were "late"...traffic..long lines at check in...TSA lines..etc. Tell me I cheated them out of a 1st class seat because they didnt clear the upgrade list, and tell me IM THE IDIOT because I can't find a reservation that they booked on United, but now wanted to fly on US. Yes, it's just my thoughts, nothing more....you're welcome.

Forcast for the next few days in BOS. High 80's to low 90's, not much wind, and very muggy. No A/C's in the Boston jails I'm told. This Britt with his four names is going to melt! Anybody care?

I don't care what kind of drugs he took, how much booze he poured down his throat, or what his "excuse" is. If the judges have any gonads, this guy will be someone's girlfriend in prison for a long time.

Amen Winglet! So, if he actually did commit murder it would be ok because he did not read the warning on his sinus medication? Which I'm sure he was not taking for the FIRST time!

I'm so sick of people pointing fingers at everyone and everything else and not taking responsibility for their actions....

He should be charged and sentenced to the maximum allowed by law....his behavior is despicable.

Gee, maybe he has multiple personalities and that's why he has all those names!

I think if he spends any time in prison with the "fellas" his sinuses will clear up right away!

because he threathened to kill all 247 pax on the plane cant he get anything longer than 20 yrs? i thought it changed since 9/11? and what kind of plane was it? i've been on furlough since june 5th so i dont know what aircraft is used for the clt-lgw route.
