CO is also the TOP airline for employees that Love their job. They have a input with management and their management responds and listens very well. That goes far. Management at US has to realize that it has to interact with its employees. With management having "It knows everything" attitude and keeps to ignore the requests and ideas that the employees have to offer. This current management is not reaping benefits of anything they have done, they are just riding the wave of cutbacks that US employees endured during their BK's. Parker probably recognized that before the merer happen US would come out stronger and better, so the merger helped bail him out. That is why he probably went after Delta cause he can claim credit and ride that wave. Why didn't he go after the better fit, go after Northwest. One point, too may labor issues with Northwest, no wave to ride. Parker is just an opportunitists, not a real leader as everybody once thought. Time for him to move on.Thanks!
It may not have shown the way you would have liked it to, but I was ALWAYS on your side.
We're seeing right now the just how valuable a motivated, inspired workforce is.
CO runs SHARES just fine! WHY? In large part because of the employees and their relationship with management.
NO!First of all, we Westies don't call HQ the "Sandcastle", we call it the "Tempe Tombstone". (One look at the building explains why.)
Second, the Easties complain so bitterly not because the Tempe Tombstone is so incompetent but because their expectations were too high. They figure that a post-deregulation, post 9/11 company that survived without (recent) bankruptcy protection could sweep in and make the old USAirways run smoothly. Change your expectations and you'll be a lot happier!
Step into reality, East wasn't nearly shutdown by the FAA as HP almost was, so why would expectations be high. HP was a joke of an airline and is making US one now as well. When Southwest Airlines offers more amenities than a major, its time for a change. Southwest is a better product than US. Southwest is a better product than FC with US. Tempe wants to charge $1100 for that FC seat, but now offer anything more than coach. Its not the employees fault, its Tempe. It is starting to show by their ineptness. Time always brings out the truth.First of all, we Westies don't call HQ the "Sandcastle", we call it the "Tempe Tombstone". (One look at the building explains why.)

You don't have kids do you? Because if your motto is, "Lower your expectations so you'll be more successful"; the next generation will reach mediocrity at best.First of all, we Westies don't call HQ the "Sandcastle", we call it the "Tempe Tombstone". (One look at the building explains why.)

No, the only joke is your foolish pride.HP was a joke of an airline and is making US one now as well.
I wrote "happier", not "more successful". One doesn't imply the other.Because if your motto is, "Lower your expectations so you'll be more successful"; the next generation will reach mediocrity at best.
My pride can take the $37,472 that I spent on airfare last year somewhere else. I just added that all up and that is not including my personal travels. I am just one customer and there are more flyers that fly alot more often than myself. If you just had 100 of my type on a plane that is $3.7 Million . My travels are to the West Coast and alot of its with only hours notice that I must travel. I want to make US my airline of choice but with the way that they are doing things, makes me choose different. I never ask for upgrades, rarely I'll buy a first class ticket. I do not ask for much, just some dependable service. If they want me to go somewhere else, I am. I do like the employees at US and they do a Great job. As for me calling HP a joke, I am sorry if you took it personally, it was aimed at management. I know the GA, FA, Pilots, and others have their hands tied and mostly want to give decent service. I respect that. No, the only joke is your foolish pride.
Thanks, but I wasn't taking anything personally. USAirways was a failed carrier. I don't say that as an insult to any employees because I know it wasn't their doing. So change had to happen one way or another. I'm not bragging about AWA either. It was weak and has never been one to emulate. My only point is how pointless it is to lament how bad Tempe is screwing up USAirways. It's one company now and in the not-too-distant future one employee group. I'm former TWA and I can write all day about how AA screwed-up our great airline but there's no point in that either. As for me calling HP a joke, I am sorry if you took it personally, it was aimed at management.
That's irrelevent and again this is what I meant by foolish pride. In 2005 US Airways was within weeks and perhaps days of liquidation. That's a fact irrespective of revenue premiums, superior service, int'l routes, better paint job or whatever. It stings to see others taking over and especially when they muck things up. Believe me, I know. But you (and some others) need to get off the high-horse that US is a superior airline. Heck, maybe it was, but it's a new company now, come what may.HP standalone delivered a LOSS.
Yeah, and if I had three more numbers I would have won the Powerball.........After talking to a friend who is a pilot who was also trying to get home- it was literally a matter of "degrees". A couple of degrees warmer or colder and things would have been different. Add to that the apparent hope of the powers that be that things would change oneway or the other for the better. Of course no one was told this in the terminal. The operative words were "ice pellets". As he said to customers who stopped him to ask questions, "It is not safe to fly in this weather." Who you going to believe?
Ever think that might be due to the operational abortion US has become. Where shall I start? Web Site? Res Migration? Baggage? DOT Complaints? FF degradations? 320 Config?
Any suggestions?
A moment on the lips... a lifetime on the hips.........Yeah ...quit your belly-aching ,go fly Midwest and have another cookie on them! <_<
