SkyCarte is another good one!

By the way, before the inevitable "you hate everything about DL" post rears it's ugly head, I would just like to (again) go on record as saying that the fruit/cheese plate looks delicious.

skyfare

skycarte

Those are good, too, but they're a little upscale sounding; sorta sounds like something jetBlue would do. SkyFood is more simple, like SkyClub.

How about SkyGrub or SkyChow? Or SkySnax?

"We have several selections from our Sky Cafe..."
I think I like the sound of that...
anyone working on the answer about EATS?

Fresh-Flying

I like skysnax or skysnack

Have you not heard the dialect of a native Minnesotan, or for that matter any native midwesterner?
you know, it all just boils down to different accents..

Midwesterners are famous for being honest, generous people and very well educated.

Southern folks are famous for hospitality, love to wave and chat ..and the food, ooh the food! (I love Southern cooking)

I think (when all is said and done) its going to be a good combination. 🙂

From a food perspective, have you ever seen a high end restaurant such as Ruth's Chris steakhouse advertising that they have "good eats"? No! They present a polished, high quality image. For that matter, I've never even seen Hooters advertise that they have "good eats".

What is wrong with Good Eats?
It is a great show with a great chef (Alton Brown) who is from the Atlanta area.

"Good eats inflight at SkyCafe'"

"SKYcafe..inflight gourment to you!"

how about..

I eats, you eats, we eats. (or it that too many eatings?) haha

how about..

its FAB! (food and beverage)

well the name is kind of cute in its own little way.

personally prefer a name such as

sky cafe or simply cafe

it just seems gourmet to me..
I love the sound of SkyCafé. As Kev3188 said, it sounds upscale and ties in very nicely with the "sky" rebranding of the company. Dignity, you should apply for a job in DL's marketing department. Whoever came up with the "Drinks & Eats" slogan should be fired!

Kev3188 is exactly right on something else he said. DL needs to decide if it wants to be a folksy, down home airline like WN or if it wants to be a polished, sophisticated, global powerhouse airline like KL/AF. Considering that DL has really been focusing on international expansion over the past 10 years, I think the company really needs to position itself as a strong competitor in the international arena.

Now, back to the initial subject of this thread. Does anyone know why DL chose to call its onboard food program "eats"?

you know one word FWAAA stated..stood out to me and probably has the right idea of what they are trying to do today...

...branding and livery.. clean and simple.

but I do like a common theme as mentioned and if they ever request input for changes in the future,
I am sure they will receive plenty of ideas!

however!

I believe,

sophistication and professionalism..

well, they already have it..

ultimately..(and as always)

that!

is made available by the Delta people..

I couldn't agree more! Every time i see the word "CAFE" i immediately think of a sophisticated, well-thought out, delicious meal prepared by skilled artisans. NOT!!!

So you think "Drinks & Eats" sounds more sophisticated than "SkyCafe"? Maybe it is in your part of the country, but not in mine.

There you go again with your "must be a southern thang" bigotry. I haven't any clue as to how long it will take you and your preconceived notions to realize that while people from the south might not sound like a cross between a Wisconsin cheesehead and a French Canadian from Vancouver, (yeah, 'ya gotta love that midwestern dialect right???)it doesn't make them any more/less ignorant than somebody from, say, Minneapolis.

And, have you not heard of the show "GOOD EATS" on Food Network, or do people from "America's Breadbasket" not get that channel? It's with a world renowned chef who goes by Alton Brown and its based out of Atlanta. Perhaps someone should tell him the title of the show isn't grammatically correct. But then again, maybe he already knows and that was his intent.

If there's one thing people from the South know, its food.
