It seems U will now reward employees ONLY in PHL, BOS, and PVD if they come to work this weekend! While all the other dedicated employees worked throughout the holidays when they were scheduled, get a "NICE JOB" pat on the back and 2 not- so-free space positive tickets. When one of the PHL employees who may have called in sick, had xmas off, could go home with a big screen TV. Isn't corporate America a great place?

Everyone single employee at U should have every opportunity for their name to be placed in these drawings.

How disgraceful.

of course if this were to happen next year and say the same crap pullled i wonder what usair would do then? if they were to do it to those three cities, it should be done to all cities served by usair. also if the bankruptcy judge saw this what would he say about it? and where is the money for the tvs coming from? i heard that these tvs are plasma and that is big and expensive.

I have to agree here.

Sure PHL , BOS and PVD have a bigger local stake in the Super Bowl this year...but from all my years of Sports watching , the Super Bowl has meaning to just about every real Football fan or party goer , regardless of the final two teams involved...its like New Years of St. Patricks Day..it becomes amature drunk night across this country....unless you are answering the call to work as you are scheduled to do without a bribe to do whats required of you.

I'm sure Super Bowl parties are scheduled in every town across this country...and many other countries will be watching by satellite feed as well. So is everyone else not entitled to a bribe to do whats right too?...or are we less likely to need to be bribed t do whats right? I don't think so...but a presidence is being set here.

It's a sad state of affairs when a company of U's size has created such an atmosphere where bribary is it's only remaining tool to squeak thru a weekend without another potential melt-down..this is at an added expense , that We can ill afford as we all know too well.

This just goes to show how sorry things have become...and just how bad they need to try to avoid more fall out from their self created problems , namely in PHL.

If you will remember CLT had a team in the Super Bowl last year...as well as the good folks in the New England areas of BOS , PVD...and lets not forget BDL in that mix...which obviously U has forgotten about in this bribe for work sweepstakes.

I have No recall of issues taking place due to last years game in two major cities like CLT or BOS....but then again , just like the game itself , maybe it was all over-shadowed by Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction...and nobody really noticed the end result. 😛

Really simple answer to the problem, if you wish to be considered for one of the "prizes" for coming to work just bid one of the eligible cities and quit complaining!!!!!!! 😛 Its your choice and if you don't like it you have another option......QUIT!!!!! 😛

Great resolution for your fellow employees.......duh.

No double duh.....

I think at this point the company will do whatever it takes, in PHL especially, to AVOID another meltdown! I REALLY don't think US can afford that to happen again! If it takes bribary, then so be it!

It's a slap in the face to all other employees who come to work and do their job, holiday, no holiday, day in and day out.

What is the matter with all you U employees anyway... <_<

Oh my God, do you people ever quit the complaining. Quit worrying about life always being fair. Like a bunch of screeming children.

it sounds a lot like you got the personal issue i am only asking questions that could be answered. on the other hand I am alos raising the point of the fact that if say pittsburgh or clt football teams go to the superbowl what is to stop the employees from doing a phlly christmas style thing and have the company come back and say we will give you this or that while all of the other cities employees come to work hard daily without the awards???

This could be a new tradition at Airways in the cities that reach the Super Bowl. The company is finally in a position financially to do something positive to show our appreciation to the employees.

Wait a minute, last February US was not in Bankruptcy yet the company did nothing for the employees in CLT or BOS.

Gee, lets take paycuts so management can give away TVs, lets layoff several thousand so US can give away TVs, gimme a break.

Your above statement seems like a crock.

Hey Zeus,

The idea here was to lift the spirits of all employees; not only PHL, BOS and PVD.

You gave 6 big screens for PHL...you should have spread them out in other bases.

I appreciate you adopting the idea, but what the heck, wouldn't of killed you guys to spread the "spirit" in the other bases...

I certainly agree in an employer showing appreciation for its employees.....but not as a bribe or incentive to come to work. Your "incentive" to come to work is your paycheck.

Employee appreciation is about ALL employees....I think this could have been presented in a much better way.

I will be in INT tomorrow, rooting for the Eagles! Go Philly! Its your turn!

Yeah that is the rumor that mgt has floated so you will come to work!

When you win, you will find that they are 13" black and white TVs from the early 70s that they picked up at a garage sale. 😀

Cheers

Why not just pay them a decent wage?

Why not establish regional differentials like just about every other industry?

The fact is that the densely populated areas generate more money for the company, they need workers there, is it unreasonable that those workers should get more because it costs more?
