Does anybody have an idea when is CO going to hire Amt's at EWR? I've apllied several since Jan 07 and all I see in my profile history is "Under Review" for each positon I've put in for. Is it also true that CO is trying to get all it's AMT back to there orignal station before they hire?

Don't feel bad! I put in for a job with CO in feb. I finally got a reply that I "passed" stage 1, and they will not contact me to see if they want to set up an interview (lol). .... Only took 'em 5 months. There is still hope.

They're still hiring. There was an internal posting for positions at EWR, I guarantee most of those won't be filled. All I can say is hang in there for now. If there's a way you can contact them go ahead and give that a try.

Why do you say that most of the positions won't be filled if you don't mind me asking?

I believe he meant that they won't be filled internally (by existing CO employess).

They will fill those positions with new hires.

I wonder how long people stay at EWR before trying to bid to a more desirable location? I'm sure there is not a great demand for people wanting to move to Newark, NJ for an $18/hr job.

It would seem that one would want to get his/her foot in the door then bid out. 😛h34r:

From my understanding it's 18 p/hr thats not including license premiums..I live in NYC so thats over the bridge for me.

They re-opened the Amt position for the 4th time this year at EWR.

What would you consider a "more deirable" location, the pay is the same where ever you start.

What was stage 1? A test, what was on it.

A more desireable location than Newark, NJ?

I will have to think on that one for a while, then get back to you. 😀

BTW: There are now 20 open positions at EWR for A&P's:

Good luck finding "someone good" for that wage in that market 🙁

I notice in the new postings for these line technician jobs in EWR that they have removed the 2 year experience requirement that all of the other postings had. Below are the only requirements. I know the HR rep in HOU told me that they would not even look at your resume unless it specifically listed the 2 year requirement. (She is now retired). I guess they modified it for EWR. The following was posted 6/29/2007

UPS currently has two openings in EWR. We usually get openings there as guys hire in get probation over with then bid to Louisville (cost of living). Try UPS jobs.com or go over and talk to the UPS techs.
