f/a "new class" for AMWest

Hi there, I was wondering for those of us that took the "new" inflight job at amwest, if and how you were notified, I called and they told me what class I was in but nothing yet, signifying the class, of course its not till april, but any feedback would be great, thanks so much......!!!! 😀

Well, I am in the March 20th class. I went to Tempe on Tuesday and did the physical, paperwork, pee test, finger printing, etc. They said I may get moved to the class on the 13th so to stay tuned. Which, is what I am doing.

Geez, I signed up for June. They moved to April 3. I cannot afford to go any sooner. It is going to be hard enough to go in April.

I called and they asked me to follow up with them the first week of March because they were processing March classes.

Any news on hotel discounts? AZ Dude can you help with rates? Please PM me with any info. I'd appreciate that!

I will start looking and let you know about hotel rooms.

During the first week of training, a couple of FAs (volunteer) and have a "coffee" after one of the classes. They will help to find places and hook you up with the right people to get answers to questions you may have.

We will also have info on roommates etc, but I will see what I can find in the mean time.

It will be great to work with you all, we realize what a struggle this will be for all of you financially, but hopefully we can 'soften the blow" for you!

Are the classes filled? If not have we started "off-the-street" or is it still internal and older canceled?

One more thing, does west allow for employee shipping? I have some boxes I'll need to eventually get 2 PHX.

I spoke to Joyce today, the packets are being mailed for the march classes today. The packets contain info on where to meet the first few days, directions, and info you need to know for the first test. I should find out for sure by the middle of next week, with a phone call, whether or not I am in the March 13th or March 20th class. I said either worked for me because my last day at my job is on the 10th of March. I AM really looking forward to meeting you all and working with "yinz" (my native pittsburgh tone there).

In answer specifically .. there are very few if any besides JMM that post here. March class people (that I know) where notified via telephone, to go to PHX and get applicable screening. nothing in writing.

They told me to follow-up with them 1st week in March. Plan on going sometime 1st 2 weeks to get all the "stuff" done! 😉
