You missed the point. He didn't make up that opinion for the court.
You are correct about being an arbiter of fairness. What he did flying had nothing to do with his opinion on that. I don't think USAPA should have put them in that position and I don't think I would have done it, but I don't know. I've never had anything like that happen to me where suddenly that whole world wanted to know what I had for breakfast.
But the behavior of some west pilots after his testimony, questioning his actions during 1549 and making outright false statements about it wasn't right either and was an embarrassment.
