Fleet News

The 330s are owned but are collateral for the ATSB loan and EETC certificates.

And your point is what concerning the ATSB?

When you buy a truck and you don't pay cash doesn't the bank own your
truck until you pay for it? You still own it right? Not really.

If US Airways chooses to see the A330's the ATSB is not going to stop them.

And yes it makes sense to dump the 767's and it also makes sense to dump
the A330's.. Now you have only one fleet type..

Announcement shortly.

Also look for the company to announce an order for the E190.. Once again
with special thanks to all of the employee's that make it possible.

CEO Lakefield has taken no paycut. Keep that in mind when you go to work.

Oh and he gets medical coverage for free for the rest of his life.. Just like
Seigal and Wolf.. Always a good deal when your the CEO.

The 7E7 is not going to be in the air till 2008. You can't sell something that is collateral for a loan unless the ATSB agrees with it and where is US gonna get the money to pay for these planes?

First the ATSB will let them sell it.

Second the money came from you. You and the other 28,000 employee's at
US Airways.

2008 is perfect.. The 767's will be just about out of life and the A330's will
be about 1/2 thru their life cycle.. Perfect..

All that needs to happen now is US Airways to survive until 2008.

Wolf did get a smok'n deal from Airbus. This has helped the company in ways few people realize even today.

justamechanic, the numbers don't add up the way you described. The paycuts cover the losses; they don't give any extra money. US is too close to Chapter 7 to be able to buy things on credit.

Now, it's possible that GECAS has agreed to some contracts that are very lucrative for them, and that pay out in 2008, in exchange for gambling on US living until then. But those are leases, and GE doesn't get paid until 2008.

If they're going to sell the collateral on the ATSB loans, the cash will have to go to the lenders, unless the lenders wish to renegotiate those terms. If they wish to renegotiate those terms and still have ATSB backing, the ATSB also has to approve the deal.

Not saying that it can't happen...but we're talking about some phenominally fancy fiscal footwork (how's that for alliteration).

Your perfect plan ends here lol no 2008 impossible

Its not my perfect plan.. I don't think US is going to make the summer especially if the fare war that Southwest, JetBlue and AirTran are going to unleash.. They smell the blood in the water..

To put it in simple terms these are the dreams and fatasies of a CEO in denial.

Many of the employee's of US Airways are in denial. They gave up all of their money and it will all be wasted just like is has been in the last two rounds. Wasted on the dreams of fools.

Bronner telling the financial world that US will have lower costs than LUV and will be able to kick their ass very very soon.. Does he smoke crack?

Loonies might be a better term.. Totaly loonies and they have convinced the employee's that they know what they are doing..

Its not my dream..

Information coming soon.

US Airways will announce very shortly the purchase of up to 30
Boeing 7E7 aircraft with GECAS being the Leasing company providing
the planes.

US Airways will return to the leasors all of the A330's and 767's.

This is from informed sources deep inside US Airways.

You heard it here first.

With special thanks to all of the employees who are going to make this
purchase possible.

Seriously, you say the dumbest things on this board. Get a grip of your brain man. US will never go back to boeing especially with their fallout over the 737s, rememebr the huge settlement airways paid them a while back for canceling all the orders?? anyways, you are the looneytoon in my eyes and 80% of the peeps who work at airways.

As far as I can tell, US is cancelling options for 35 aircraft, and getting back the money it had paid for those options.

As far as I can tell, US still has the 19 A320-series aircraft and 10 A330-200 aircraft on order, but the delivery dates have been pushed back.

Just don't quote me on that.

Whaaaa.. That really hurt..

You can say it to me in the Unemployment line..

Do you think Boeing gives a rats ass about the 737 thing? If US Airways shows up tomorrow and says "Hey we would love to buy your plane" they would give them a big hug and a kiss and say come on in..

Your eye's are blocked by the rose colored glasses you wear and vaseline smear!! You and your group are probably the biggest reason all of the airlines find themselves in today.. A group of greedy me me me all about me people..

If you agree to another pay cut, management will buy some A380's. You need to decide by tomorrow 😉

Just ask AirBiiguy and USA320.. They will be first in line to give back anything and they will fight each other to be first.

Don't forget UseYourHead, he will be there with his wallet open too.
