Mendenhall is an idiot , he is in there as a yes man for the union , whatever Canale says he will go for. He was thrown out of MSY for being a RAT to management.
Lolly is one of the guys who will give you an honest answer , he is not afraid to tell you the truth and sometimes this pisses off the union.
We can only hope that Canale doesn't sell us out.By the way John Mendenhall is as dumb as a rock , he presents himself poorly and is one of Wingard's and Mikllavic's stooges , a real loser !
 
Ron Roth of the PHX ramp is a retired telephone company employee with a long history of working in labor relations. Arbitration, mediation, grievances, negotiations... He's been there, done that. He has the combined charisma and wisdom of Gandhi, Jesus Christ, Buddha and Martin Luther King. He also loves his grandkids. :up: B)
 
Jeff Rusk is FSA in CLT, stand up guy, very knowledgeable, been on the Negotiating Committee before during the first bankruptcy and the second.

Jeff will tell you what he thinks, was overruled but the PHL contingent last time.

Jeff as been on the CLT Ramp Grievance Committee for a long time and has been chairman of it before, has gotten numerous rampers their jobs back.

I would have no problem with Jeff representing me.

I stand corrected. Tom came from our city and it has been a long time. We were talking today and no one myself included remembered exactly where he worked. And YES, he is very smart.

If it wasnt for Tommy the retirees would have gotten screwed even more.

Tom also negotiated the Maintenance Instructors Concessions and was the only IAM group not to abrogate and they got a good deal.

When it comes to pensions and insurance there is no one better.

He was a great GC and was recognized for his talents and moved up to Grand Lodge Rep, remember his mentor was Joe Mantineo.

Joe ALSO worked in my station. Joe did take Tom under his wing because of his smarts.....

Tom came from EWR I believe. Bright guy for sure and is probably the best the IAM has to offer. Never worked fleet.

Jeff Rusk, very good and loyal soldier for the IAM. I don't believe he will lie but his allegiance to the IAM will definately cost him his chairmanship when it is up [from what i heard]. In fact the whole CLT committee is as good as gone. Coors, Christenbury, Rusk will most likely be replaced, although I heard Rusk is or will be a trustee for the IAM.
Look for Tony D, Crowell, and another to replace them with little to no resistance.

Lolly, I have respect for him but after sitting for a few months under Canale and Roth smoke, I wonder if he can separate a grievance from negotiations. For fleet, I hope he can. Lolly is a good guy. Then again so is Chandlee, helluva guy and someone I consider a friend but in all honesty I think he mailed it in a few years back.


Wingard. Pit has Wingard like PHL has Tony A.

Flynn, a solid soldier of Chandlee and Aliano. Flynn goes how Chandlee does.

Aliano. Not on the committee but would have been brighter than all and had bigger balls of steel than all.

Armedio. weakest of the bunch IMO. I think PHL would agree for the most part. Wants Canale's job probably and he's on his way.

Mendenhall, non factor.

Regarding Roth, I dont know him but it doesn't matter how much experience he has, the question is if he is capable of sticking to the guns of arbitration to keep the wage snapbacks secure for US east. My bet is that pressure may mount for him to cave in and have East 'subsidize' west by throwing away the 'change of control' clause and $21 so the westies can come up to $19. I hope I'm wrong.

I recognize many names on the list and there is no one who will question Canale when push comes to shove.

Not saying there aren't some decent guys, but they won't buck the IAM.

Just for example: who wants to bet US fleet will get their recall rights restored?

I have to agree with Tim. The arbitration costs nothing, and is separate from negotiations. Why not go forward with it?

I'm guessing the company and the union have assigned a value to a winning arbitration (and we'll NEVER see those numbers) that will be diluted and folded into the negotiations.

Frank was not an GC at the time, and it was Bill who should have called CLT instead of having secret conference calls with the company.

The IAM is going forward with the arbitration it is to be held next week in PHX, why are you saying they are not?
 
QUESTION FOR THE EAST ... will this arbitraction do anything for those of us on the WEST , will WE get back pay from the moment we signed our IAM cards thereby becoming IAM members???
