No it doesn't make sense and your math makes no sense. You have no understanding of tax laws vs "loopholes mantra" vs tax rate vs corporate tax rates. If you did you would know how flawed your argument is and holds no water.

Are you arguing that the wealthiest pay greater percentage of their wealth than the working class? I know what their tax rate it but I have seen nothing to substantiate the claim that they actually pay that rare after all the loop holes and deductions are applied.

You can make any statistic look what you want if you don't provide enough data.

One could 'assume' that the top 1% pays 38.02% of taxes but it appears to me that these numbers are tax tables where the threshold is but not what is actually paid.

WON cuts in federal income tax rates for ALL taxpayers. The top income tax rate was reduced from 70 percent to about 36 percent.

Problem is the AGI. If we get rid of the 'adjusted' and everyone pays a flat tax, then there would be no ambiguity.

We are talking about two separate amounts. One is the amount the rich pay which is more, the other is a percentage which, at least with Buffet is less.

I did not say Americans are stupid or incapable of thinking for themselves. You are putting words in my mouth. I am fully aware of that the dems took control in 2006 as well when the economy was still half way decent. However during the entire Bush presidency the democrats beat the drum endlessly on how he was destroying the economy. Like I said they were howling when unemployment reached 5.2% and the deficit was increasing. Now that they had the majority they exploded the debt and unemployment is off the charts. Yet they have not nor will not do anything meaningful expect increase the social welfare state and push a false class warfare argument.

And what would have happened if the democrats said nothing in 2008? Would the election have turned out differently?
