The HDQ grapevine (which has been known to also travel by carrier pigeon) told me the GM in DEN was "let go to pursue other interests" about two weeks ago.

Anyone know what happened?

Maybe he publicy voiced, "Hey, wait a minute, we're ranked 15th out of 16th in customer service, we've got to fix that".

Upon getting worg of the GM's statement, a summary execution was ordered for the infidel. 😛

(I know nothing, take care)

Maybe he pointed out that the Emperor has no clothes.

Probably so.

The worst thing a salaried individual can do career-wise is to tell the truth.

No doubt shown the door with full benefits as if he/she had retired or gave notice.

Sorry to dissapoint, Goose, but third-hand, he was shown the door without so much as a pat on the ass or a few weeks of travel benefits.

I know you like to believe management is a happy fraternity of arse-kissers, but people do get fired when they get caught cooking the books or their numbers, even when they have 20 years and friends in high places. BB was a second gen AA'er, and even that didn't save him.

No severence is the same fate a couple of other high-time people (L5 and above) got over the past couple of months, some who got thought they were above Regs, and others who simply violated Rule 30-something -- "Thou shalt not be stupid"

Many are promoted beyond their ability. Few are found out, because their superiors are also above their head.

This, of course, is a general observation, and I claim no special knowledge of the DEN situation.

.

I have seen management get fired over the years but just like union folks it is far and few between. Besides the shoot yourself in the foot rule violations that end in immediate termination. That said if one has Management intentions the first thing is your sponsor needs to be higher than you and not much older that way you can be protected. I have seen many cases where a persons sponsor retired and within a year the person was let go. Do not know if it applies to this issue just stating observations.
