Fse Why Vote Iam?

Consider the possiblity of no contract at all. I promise you DO NOT want to go there.

Coach,

IAM kool aid?
you don't need to pay a union for a 'union busting contract' that pays some wages of around $17.50 in the year 2013. You did better when you were IAM-union free when you made $17.88 in 1993.

BTW, your IAM pension is the worst employer contributing plan in the industry and was so good that it was a $47 million concession to your previous 401k. Just putting in 3%-5% restricted to 40 hrs is worse than non-union workers in this industry. Dude, Non-union workers at US AIRWAYS enjoy better employer contributions in their retirement plans. Even the CWA has an employer contribution rate that is basically double of the dreadful IAM Fleet service rate.

The IAM says they believe in seniority and are right there with you yet they were the only union to agree to allow all workers it represents in FS to go to 'ground zero' in seniority in lay off situations.

Job security, the IAM contracted out 80% of the cities, probably 90% if I got technical.

At any rate, the IAM isn't the answer, anything but the answer.

Just pointing to the scoreboard that's all.

regards,

Who is US/West fleet represented by - TWU?

Any chance you can get the teamsters?

While there are valid considerations in the IBT/IAM showdown with the mechs, this is NOT true for fleet.

Fleet should look to greener pastures.

Tim is absolutely right about the layoff clause at fleet. If you are furloughed, if you are recalled after 60 days, you start out with zero seniority.

No other bargaining unit sold out there members this way.

then again no other union sold their brothers and sisters dpwn the river the way the iam did to their own fleet service as well as raising the dues to an outrageous level of 22.45

22.45 is that per month? TWU pay 1 hour per pay check so for the top out guys thats 30.45.

no it is per check and if you were/are in a city that is/was outsourced, it comes out of the severance checks as well. so it is 22.45 a check and in a month it would be $44.90

New Hire Part time Philly worker who makes 9.59 and hour pays $30.50 a month - there getting screwed!

A Senior Full time Philly worker who makes 17.00 an hour pays 44.90 a month - there getting ripped as well

The IAM will want you to believe the dues is 2 times your wage but as you can see thats a big ol lie!

The make the dues rate by the average of the lodge and the dues rate keep going up to support those

overpaid former bag boys AGC's
