POST/ TRANSITION With US AIRWAYS/AMT/UNION'S.

Do you ever read and comprehend anything or just see the world on your own limited way?

The bankrucpty court abrogated every labor contract at CO and decertified every union, the unions legally could do nothing.

And your ibt went and organized the scabs.

And unionism is about the good for all, not just an elitist like yourself, your own ibt has relateds in the contracts at various carriers yet I don't see you whining about the ibt.

I think I would fall out of my chair if you ever answer a question, without twistting things around.
Just answer the question Today if I retired with 20+yr HOW MUCH COULD I EXPECT TO RECEIVE EACH MONTH $10 $100 $1000.

Why do you even talk about the IAMPF it couldn't of been that good if you gave it away like ever thing else you have. If we let the IAM stay in power what else would you give up for us ???
Can I show you my IBT negotiated retirement here at UPS? It is an answer, you won't get one from 700. W  When backed in a corner here comes.........Dell.

Hey I got some news happening this CENTURY, a fellow SKILLED AMT at NW told me that they have been photographing the IAM boys talking to the NWA scabs!!!!!! We will probably get the lame old Continental argument from some, However it is proven the IBT didn't even get in the Picture at Continental for over two years!!!!! The IAM at NWA? Ink is still wet on the picket signs!!!!!!

THIS IS A E-MAIL FROM A EX-MEMBER OF THE IAM WHO WAS THERE!!

man:

When I hired in with Continental in 1969 the IAM was the Union on the > property, in fact the IAM was the preeminent Union in the industry at that > time and was the representative on the majority of the carriers. Our > contract expired in 1978 and we entered negotiations. 1978 was also the > year deregulation of the airline industry took effect. Soon after > deregulation went into effect Frank Lorenzo, who was CEO of Texas > International began buying Continental stock and eventually gained control > of 51% of the stock at which time he ousted Bob Six the founder. Needless > to say things changed at Continental. Lorenzo was/is a ruthless business > man and could not care less for his employees. After 5 years of > negotiations, in August of 1983 we,the Mechanics and related went on > strike against Continental. Lorenzo immediately began hiring replacement > workers. Those of us that remained on strike continued our picket lines > until April of 1985. In April of 1985 a meeting was held in the TWU Union > hall in LAX and senior representatives of the IAM made an announcement > that the IAM was no longer representing us and that we should seek our > jobs back the best way we could if we wanted to go back to Continental. > They immediately ran out the back door into a waiting limousine and > escaped while we were all in shock. I finally swallowed my pride and went > back to work in June of 1985.
>
> People need to know the IAM walked away from us. We, the ones that had > suffered and been united and strong were left hung out to dry by our > Union. We had people that lost everything because of that strike. They > lost their homes, their families a few even committed suicide. Is it any > wonder I have no respect for the IAM.
>
> Some time in the mid 1900's, I believe it was 1996 AMFA made an attempt to > organize us. Most of us, even though we wanted a Union back on the > property, realized AMFA was a very weak imitation of one and could not > help us in our present situation. In 1997 - 1998 we enlisted the help of > the Teamsters and were successful in winning the election in June of 1998. > We successfully negotiated the first contract and it went into effect in > 1999.
>
> So bottom line did the Teamsters organize scabs at Continental. The answer > is both yes and no. Yes because there are still a few scabs remaining on > the property, although most have left for one reason or another. No > because we were no longer on strike and were non-Union. Remember the IAM > had declared the strike was over and no longer represented us in 1985. So > there is a tremendous difference between the Teamsters organizing us and > what the IAM is attempting on Northwest.
>
> I hope this helps and not to long winded.

THE TRUTH HURTS!

Nothing to hurt, CAL destroyed all unions on the property.

And the IAM has not walked away from any carrier they represented, they were not the certified bargaining agent for CAL's Mechanics anymore and they were not paying dues.

The judge wiped out the certification along with the contract and the laws if the US there was nothing the IAM could do to force CAL to hire back the strikers.

Dont let the reality and facts get in your way.

And shall we talk about the Overnite Trucking and how the ibt screwed the members over there?

They paid a non-union and non-ibt member to walk and carry a picket sign at the Overnite in Charlotte. Where was the ibt then?

Soooooo The IBT waited ten years to get continental techs together...hhhmmm...the IAM is attempting to gather NWA scabs while NWA techs (union brothers) walk the picket line....DISGRACEFUL, Oh yeah genius, overnite overwhelmingly said no to being represented!!!!! There loss.

DON'T LET THE FACTS GET IN YOUR WAY

OK: I WIll Ask once again,What if it is so GREAT Can I an (AMT) expect to Gain Per Month to pay for my Retirement Bill's etc: Say 25 year's, $10,$100,$1000/Month.I know I MWW have control over My 401K, I DO NOT have control over some outdated Pension program that Thug's control & make Decision's for the investment's. MWW
P.S. Please do not give me some lame excuse about Negotiation's & some union language that only you & Mr 700 understand as you are the only Dinosour's & Guru's that can enlight Your IAM Base of Supporter's. MWW

what do you as being retired have to do with anything we are deciding on for the future??? what you have now in retirement is set, you will not gain from what WE do in the future so thanks for your historical insight, but the current workers need to discuss this and decide on it..

UW, now you are an expert on CO form 36 years ago, or even 21 years ago and you know better than someone who worked there... you truly are trying to sound like mister know-it-all....most of the time you are just rehashing the IAM talking points in your hand...
Can the IAM guarantee a pension like the IAMNPF.. no nothing is guarnteed, i would rather keep my 401k, roth plans and have it, than to work for 20 years with a pension, only for the company to BK again and cancel pensions, only to be left broke

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but since our negotiated retirement plan at U for mechanic and related was turned over to the PBGC it is still paying by the same multipliers. (Approximate figures) ex.- age 55 - $55.00 a month per year of service 20yr. X $55 = $1100 on up to age 62 - $70.00 a month per year of serivce = $1400.

The only thing now our years of service will not be increasing from when it was turned over to the PBGC. The IAM had previously talked about switching over to the IAM pension plan but the interest within the membership wasn't there. So for now the 401k's will have to do. True, if the company is paying for a defined retirement plan that gives them less money to pay out elsewhere.
Since I don't know of anyone with crystal balls, we will have to wait and see what happens for the future.

docker if you are retired I hope the best for you my airline brother you will need it if you dont have a 401k. 😉
Company to BK = still your money
Union pull out = still your money
How can you lose what you have = just you.....

And unionism is about the good for all, not just an elitist like yourself,........

Hmmmmm........I could see why you would feel that only elitists would want to be compensated for greater responsibility. Yourself not being in the group with the greater responsibility but under the same contract.

Your elitists attitude is apparent every time you post on any of the topics on this board, yet it's everyone else that has the problem not you.......wake up 7. 🙂
