It becomes the company's business when the folks involved were in uniform signed out on "UNION BUSINESS" It's simple Agrnecy Law. Not only could IAM be held liable for injuries but so too could US Airways, even the Marriott could find itself embroiled in a lawsuit.

Whether it was a scuffle or a Pier 6 Brawl matters little. I was union violence and intimidation and that is wrong no matter how to try to justify it.

Correct. Another point is company policy and procedure. If your in uniform, your "technically" not even supposed to be in a bar(I know that is a stretch, but is true). If these guys were in uniform, and did what accused of, they brought disrepute on the company, therefore violation of said policy, therefore the company has every right to step in and fire these fools even though they were not on company property.

ok well Im hearing from contacts that they drove off airport property in a compnay vehicle to the marriott.

If the IAM did this to management when they were negotiating it wouldnt be so bad but to do it to fellow AFL-CIO members is what hurts and the IAM should be ashamed.
