The concept of equality is lost on the religious self righteous.  Lets propose a ban prohibiting Christians from getting married and see how they sequel.  They will say "but that's different" even though it's virtually identical.

Actually there is one difference.  Religion is a choice.
Tell us, how will they sequel?

Can you describe this sequel for us?

Keep trying to sell the lie that only the Christians have a problem with this.

Marriage was a religious ceremony looooooooooong before it was a federal or state ceremony!

Yeah.........dog keeps trying, even though it hasn't worked for him yet!

Yes. That piece of paper gives the same happiness to gays that it gives to heteros. The knowledge that your spouse can have bisitaion in the hospital. Not be taxed differently upon death. Receive SS and military benifits and a litany of other benifits.

And marriage was and exchange of property long before it arrived at its current state. WTFC?

Currently in the US marriage is a contract. States have not been able to show any legitimate interest to prevent equal marriage among all consenting adults. That is why the courts are rejecting all the bans on marriage.

Proof yet again the government messes up everything they touch.

There you go again off on a tangent.
Is murder a affliction with no choice? There are people whom like to murder for the joy of it. Is this a choice?
Child molesters make a decision to molest children, is this a choice? Or their genetic makeup?

You better tell the Christian Gays that you know better than them, Dick Head!

Sissy and pansy? Looks to me like you are being influenced by the Hollywood branding of gays.
How old are you, if I might ask?  I'm 56 and grew up in the 60's.  BAck then, sissy and pansy were actually used to describe a boy who wasn't 'manly'.  No need for Hollywood...been there and saw that.

How about not having to declare your 'gender'?
When you come to a party holding hands/hugging your partner, most get it.
I have hosted parties (in my glory days) and already knew my guest list.
Declaring your 'gayness' is not appreciated or necessary.
But that's just me...

Not sure. I have read some studies that suggest some folks can be hard wired with a tendency toward violence. Acting. On those desires I think is a choice. Same with pedophilia.

What does any of this have to do with marriage equality?

What do the gay Christians have to do with this?

I'm 47, I heard much more derogatory words used more often than not.

How exactly does one go about fighting for equally with out declaring ones self? Making folks aware of your plight is part and parcel of how the fight is won. It's not like suffrage and civil rights were won by just asking nicely.

Given the advances gays have made over just the last few years I'd say their tactics are working very well.

I guess the right could just acknowledge that everyone deserves equality and advocate for laws that support that but I guess that would be to easy.

Location Location Location... 😛
I grew up in German Town in Columbus.
I posted this before, but I will (somewhat) do again. (look it up under UAL_TECH).

The 'crowd' I ran with were mostly hetro with a couple of gays.
We knew they were gay without asking, didn't matter to us as we were 'Friends'.
I have great memories.

Most of my gay friends died of AIDS.

I'm 60, been there, done that, no cigar....

That may be true...but here's the thing...back then...LONG before we were considering which sexuality choice we would make, some boys were "different".  One has to wonder if they really had a choice to make...of if that choice wasn't already made by their divine creator.
