The SCOYUS has decided to hear two cases pertaining to equal marriage rights. They will being hearing one case on DOMA and the second case will be regarding Prop 8. The question seems to be will the decisons be narow and only apply to procedural issues or will they actually make a substanative decison and address the core issue of equal rights.

Arguments are schedualed for March and the decisons are sceduladed for Jun or Jul.

AS USUAL YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG. I have been telling you that I am OK with people's rights. It goes back to the argument of separation of church and state. You called me a bigot based on my religious beliefs. Although my religious beliefs say homosexualitry is wrong, if the state wants it I am not going to interfere. Quit trying to make it like unless you agree with our Rights For All agenda you are a bigot. So I am not denying anyone rights but why should I fight for rights of those I don't believe in.

My beliefs aren't going to be changed by a worthless human being, but what Caesar decides I'm OK with it.
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Rights taken from one person are taken from all of us. There may come a time when someone tries to deprive you of equal rights. It would be a shame if others sat by just because it is a right that they did not agree with. Ours is a nation of laws. All people are to be treated equally under the law. Thankfully our laws are not decided on how people feel about something. At least not yet.

I do not believe in abortion especially as a form of birth control but I can find no compelling legal argument to deprive a woman of her right to have sole control over her body. I do not agree with anything the KKK, Black Panthers or NAMBLA stand for but I will argue for their right to speak out freely just as any other person in this country is entitled to do by law.

Alsoo, by sitting by and not speaking out against injustices, you are, in my opinion, nearly as guilty as those who actively try to deprive others of equal rights.

I have news for you...my equal rights have been deprived because I have to pay for the sins of YOUR forefathers that allegedly took equal rights away from everybody except the WASPs.

So if anyone is guilty of anything it is those who signed YOUR Constitution.

What are you talking about?

I know the WASP part but I do not know what rights my forefathers took away.

Plenty from the Natives...

Not sure what any of this has to do with the topic of Gay Marriage.

Blacks also but that goes more to my point. Others sat by as rights were deprived from people because they did not believe in those rights. It can affect all of us.

And who were the slave owners? Why lo and behold your forefathers. The sins of the father are passed to the son. To give people rights because of the past means that you 'subtly' deprive the rights of others. It would make more sense if you live in a ghetto instead of reading about it. And yes your MULTICULTURALISM is making ghettos for all!

Who is getting rights because of the past? Who's rights are being deprived by allowing A people to marry? What multiculturalism?

You said you do not believe in the rights so why fight. My argue t is that rights are rights. They apply to all of us. The fact that you would stand by while others have rights denied to them leaves you little room to coming about rights deprived to you for much the same reason.
