The majority?

Do you really even understand what happened?

The court issued a stay until the case is heard at a higher level.

So no the majority did not speak.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

So, are you saying the majority has spoken?
Come on. Come clean. You are just pretending not to understand the process right? Right?

Glen,

I think he is a back shop guy, since DL outsources all their Heavy Checks.

Well 70 percent of Utah did vote against homosexual marriage so yes the majority did speak.

So every eligible voter voted?

And it was found unconstitutional, now wasnt it?

Sbeity and partner Derek Kitchen are among three couples who brought the Utah lawsuit that led to the surprise Dec. 20 ruling by U.S. District Judge Robert Shelby, who said the state's ban on same-sex marriage violated gay and lesbian couples' constitutional rights.

Also Slavery was legal in the US in the past, its not now, so just because laws are passed and people vote, doesnt mean its constitutional.

Guess you dont remember Abortion was illegal too, until Roe vs Wade.

Sure about that?

Utah is one of 33 states to have banned same-sex marriage either through its constitution or by statute. In 2004, 66 percent of Utahns approved Amendment 3 and its traditional definition of marriage.

Shelby acknowledged in his ruling that "few questions are as politically charged in the current climate," but he said the plaintiffs in the case were asking a question that depended on the U.S. Constitution.

"The state’s current laws deny its gay and lesbian citizens their fundamental right to marry and, in so doing, demean the dignity of these same-sex couples for no rational reason," the judge wrote. "Accordingly, the court finds that these laws are unconstitutional."

Oh the copy and paste google wizard 700UW has spoken!!  You are about as bright as mud if you think the majority people of Utah is for homosexual marriage.  It's one of the most conservative states in the nation, no matter how thick headed your skull can't comprehend it.

Trick question 700UW what came first the marriage ceremony or the constitution?

How about separation of Church and State.

By law marriage is a contract.

Glad to see you completely ignored laws that were once enacted and yet found unconstitutional, just like the banning of same sex marriages are.

What does it matter if two people who are in love and want to get married effect you if they are the same sex?

You have to get a license from the Government to get married now, dont you?

What people think doesnt matter when it involves the US Constitution, its how the judges interpret and rule that matters.

So should slavery still be legal?

Should women not be able to own property and vote?

So Blacks be treated as second class citizens?

Should children be able to work instead of going to school?

Should black and white not be allowed to marry?

Lots of people thought those types of things are fine, yet they are now all unconstitutional or illegal.

Do you want more facts?

And glad to see you have to call people names when you cant debate the facts.

Why did the pilgrims come to what is now the United States?

You want facts???!  I give you one since that is your fav sentence.   The marriage ceremony was a religious institution between a MAN and WOMAN since the beginning of time.  It was before any government, constitution, federal or state ceremony.  For a person to say "I want to be married" is essentially saying I believe in God.  And if you believe in God then you learn he clearly defines homosexuality as a sin next to murder.  So yes I stick to the "facts" that marriage ceremony came before the constitution!!

Last time I checked this country is based on laws and not the bible.

And once again you ignore the facts.

And do you work on Sundays?

Do you cut your hair?

So did slavery, but its illegal and unconstitutional now isnt it?
