George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin

Then why did you make the statement that Martin should not have beat up Zimmerman? Seems like a conclusive statement for someone who claims not to have an answer. Why do you do not ask the same questions of the guy who is alive to answer them. Perhaps Zimmerman started a fight he could not finish and had to resort to using his gun? Marin was on a public street and had not committed any crime. ZImmerman can ask all the questions he wants but Marin is under no obligation to answer much less acknowledge Zimmerman.
No proof Zimmerman started anything. Lots of physical and forensic evidence that Martin stalked and attacked Zimmerman. As State witness and Army Jag officer Capt. Alexis Francisco Carter stated during his testimony, he would not have advised Zimmerman to wait so long to shot Martin. He would have shot him after the first punch. There is no minimum amount of beating you have to endure before you defend yourself.

The State's star witness, Rachel Jeantel, who Martin was talking to during the incident, testified that Martin was, at one point, clear of Zimmerman, before deciding to turn back and confront his purported assailant (at least verbally). I don't imagine Standing Your Ground includes returning to the danger. Additionally, Jeantel testified that Martin was going back to confront Zimmerman. BOOM

Sounds to me like the peeps that are upset with the verdict, need to vent elsewhere.............prosecution team maybe ?

They had no case. Pressure from the likes of Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson got them the trial which was the justice they demaned. They ignore the bloodbath going on in Chiicago of gang violence. Maybe they are avoiding getting involved because the cowards don't want to risk their own lives. Where is Rep Jessie Jackson, Jr of Illinois? Trying to avoid prison, due to his guilty plea to multiple charges.
They need to leave Zimmerman alone and clean their own house.

I read a response to an article in the Amarillo Globe about the use of the racial slur "cracker" in the black community. He nailed it.

"The problems of black men and women today aren't the fault of the white man, they are the fault of dependence on the government, generational poverty, drugs, poor family structure, poor education, and an attitude of unforgiveness for past racism.

Unforgiveness is at the root of the issue. Just as I cannot heal from a wrong done to me without forgiving the transgressor, so the black race (or any other) cannot heal without doing the same thing. There is no value in what the black community is being sold by those making a living as race-baiters. The hate these men and women foment is destructive to the black man, but has little effect on the perceived oppressor.

The problems of the black community can only be fully healed by the black community. Like an addiction, they have to decide they have a problem within themselves."

Is it illegal to verbally confront someone?

Is it illegal to verbally confront someone?
The standard for self-defense is not that one is correct in perceiving a threat; the standard is that one is reasonable in perceiving a threat. If the verbal threat is in the form of "I'm going to kill you tonight" then yes, it is illegal.

He only say part of the confrontation, not all of it and not the beginning which is the most important part.
You didn't watch the trial, what do you know about the testimony? What "most important" part happened at the beginning of the incident?

Is that what Zimmerman said happened?

You posted the transcript of his testimony and that showed that Good did not see who started the fight. He also did not hear who said what to possibly instigated the confrontation.

In the post above you said that if Martin verbally or physically threatened Zimmerman to start the fight that would be grounds for self defense. I would think that having a witness to the beginning of the confrontation would be important.

We know how it ended, we do not know how it started.

For Zimmerman perhaps. Not for the rest of the folks who live in Florida. I would want to know how to shoot someone in the street and get away with it.

Really?

"George Zimmerman in court on Friday, July 12. The acquitted killer helped rescue a family from a car accident just four days after he was acquitted for murder, his legal team said.

George Zimmerman helped rescue a family from an overturned car after an accident in Florida last week, a spokesman for his lawyer said.

Zimmerman was driving on route 417 in Sanford on Wednesday when he spotted an overturned car and pulled over to help, Sean Vincent, a spokesman for Zimmerman's legal team, told the Daily News."

What do his subsequent actions (how ever noble) have to do with his previous actions?
