George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin

You won't recognize me. My name was Antonio West and I was the 13-month old child who was shot at point blank range by two teens who were attempting to rob my mother, who was also shot. A Grand Jury of my mommy's peers from Brunswick GA determined the teens who murdered me will not face the death penalty...too bad I was given a death sentence for being innocent and defenseless.

My family made the mistake of being white in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder was not ruled a Hate Crime. Nor did President Obama take so much as a single moment to acknowledge my murder.

I am one of the youngest murder victims in our great Nation's history, but the media doesn't care to cover the story of my tragic demise, President Obama has no children who could possibly look like me - so he doesn't care and the media doesn't care because my story is not interesting enough to bring them ratings so they can sell commercial time slots.

There is not a white equivalent of Al Sharpton because if there was he would be declared racist, so there is no one rushing to Brunswick GA to demand justice for me. There is no White Panther party to put a bounty on the lives of those who murdered me. I have no voice, I have no representation and unlike those who shot me in the face while I sat innocently in my stroller - I no longer have my life.

So while you are seeking justice for Trayvon, please remember to seek justice for me too. Tell your friends about me, tell you families, get tee shirts with my face on them and make the world pay attention, just like you did for Trayvon.

I am happy that you see this with 20/20 clarity.
I can tell you from my Vietnam experiences that chit doesn't happen in a text book/hindsight kind of way.
Put yourself in both shoes (Zimmerman/Trayvon).

Not going to rehash the trial.
It's over.
Justice was demanded (by political powers).
Justice has been served (but not to your liking).
Sign a petition and circumvent the law, your choice.

Take Care KC,

Since I don't own a gun, I wouldn't have followed Martin. But I think that the gun by Zimmerman's side gave him some courage that he might have lacked otherwise. I don't think that was the purpose of concealed carry laws. I believe concealed carry was passed to allow someone to defend themselves - NOT to give people the courage to put themselves into a situatrion where they might have to defend themself. If Martin were a true thug, he most likely would have been carrying a Glock and "popped" Zimmerman before a single punch was swung. But he was just a "wannabe". Zimmerman was a complete idiot because let's say Martin DID have that Glock - would Martin have been justified by defending himself against someone was relentlessly tailing him...making him fear for his life? Or we he have just been a gangsta wannabe and found himself serving 25 to life for doing the exact same thing Zimmerman did.d

Did I "EVER" state that lil Trayvon was a thug?
Nope.
So what's your point?
Maybe U, mstree and dadawg better compare notes.

Typical conservative stupidity. Everyone in jail mjust be guilty otherwise they would not be there.

I got letters of recommendation from three of my managers. They also knew I got hosed.

You were in 'Nam huh ?
Probably got Drafted, right ?

Jonathan Good, State witness, Florida v. Zimmerman

O'Mara = Zimmerman's defense lawyer
BDLR = State Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda

O’Mara: Just to clarify what was actually talked about with Chris Serino, Investigator Serino, during this, we’re going to call it for the moment the Ground-and-Pound conversation. We have a rule called completeness, so what I want to do is put it in context for you, ask you if this is what you said to Chris Serino. OK?.......

Good opened his blinds when the fight had already started so no one knows what prompted the fight. All we know is the the winner gets to claim self defense with nothing to contradict it. The other person who could have claimed self defense is dead. Convenient.

Looks like KC, Tree, Quag and the likes, blew right by this one...................guess it doesn't fit their agenda ! No "White Latino" ( new race) on Black crime here. And KC, next time your getting your ass kicked and your head bashed against the concrete, what response you have, besides unconsciousness or death !
How do you people sleep at night, with all the Black guilt you suffer from?

I blew right past it because I've never listened to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. I don't suffer from "black guilt" other than to recognize that there really is a traffic offense of "driving while black" (just for fun take note of who is pulled over by a cop). I thought one thing where the south was ahead of the north was that blacks could walk anywhere in the south - in the north, they knew the places they should avoid. But I was wrong. Apparently walking down the street in the rain is enough to warrant the death penalty. And while your post shows us just how heartless and thugish black teens are - one big difference is that Martin didn't attempt to rob Zimmerman and bust into his house. He was just walking down the street. And it's good to see that your tear jerking post cites the actions of two black teenagers, I don't believe that it indicts all black teenagers - including Martin. If the actions of two black teenagers is representative of them all, then I guess the actions of Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono represent all white people.

I don't understand your point. You agree with, and call the Zimmerman/Martin case fair because the legal system was followed and ruled. I also agree with the outcome of the case and beleive in our system of justice. It is at times, not perfect, but it is the best system in the free world in my opinion (from studying different systems from different countries).

It seems that with this post, you are implying that since this "jury of peers" did not give you what you thought was just in this case, you find it a miscarriage?

How is that different than those complaining that the Zimmerman/Martin case was not just.

It could be that the family could not afford attorneys of the caliber that Zimmerman had? I take issue when someone disagrees with how juries rule. Having been on several trial juries (and a grand jury) including one murder case, many factors exist that only the jurors in the case will ever know. Also, unless one was there during the entire proceeding and deliberations, one can only offer a jaded opinion not based on the entire fact set.

This is an interesting article:

"A 2012 study by PBS's Frontline is getting a second look post-Zimmerman's exoneration, and it reveals that if you're going to kill in self-defense in America, you'd better be white. By analyzing data from a study by John Roman, senior analyst at the Urban Institute's Justice Policy Center, Frontline found that in "Stand your ground" states, white people who kill black people are 354 percent more likely to be found justified in their killings. And it doesn't get much better in non-"Stand your ground" states, where that number goes down only to 250 percent.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/criminal-justice/is-there-racial-bias-in-stand-your-ground-laws/

But even when it comes to black-on-black crime or black-on-white crime, a black defendant is unlikely to get a self-defense ruling in his or her favor, whether or not the state has "Stand your ground" laws on the books, as shown in this graph."

I don't think this store owner gives a crap about Frontline or bar graphs. Do you think he cares about the color of the crook? He could have easily taken this BB gun holding robber. He had a bigger gun and chose not to use it, rather stand his ground and do a little a$$ kicking.

Are you going to whine about about the butt whipping too, GQ? What a clown.

What are talking about?

Do you have anything to say about the article? How about a thoughtful comment instead of some rant and video that has nothing to do with what I posted.

Did you bother to read it?
