What's new

Gonna Make It...yes Or No

I would like US to survive without being on life support systems but it doesn't seem likely. With the company losing about $2 million a day (that was November), it can't continue for very long. Along with all the what went on last weekend, it will take a lot of advertising $ and PR to get people flying us again.

The only way it makes it is with more pay cuts from alpa and management. mainline express every station except for about 8 or ten
large stations.close down about 15 small cities that do 10000 or less
enplanements . cut about 6000 fulltime jobs and create more part time.
this is already done in the cwa contract, PT is up to six and a half hr shifts.have management manage dont cover shifts just to cover them
when their not needed.
good luck to all because your going to need it.

cheshire_cat_with_earring.webpDoes Jerry look like he wants US to make it?

No. It seems like all airlines fail the same way. It's like watching a rerun on TV.

Any predictions on a timetable?

Hate to say but this bird is done. USAirways will be the first to fail along with others. The system is broken and Hub and Spoke carriers need to change quickly or face the fate of USAirways. I expect the begining of the end to start mid February. Good Luck to All, we are going to need it.

This weekend is crucial. Another major cluster f&ck and this popsicle stand closes down. 🙁

I agree... but the avoidance of a disaster is not enough... U and it's PR department (I know, I'm dreaming) have to turn this weekend into "It's a Wonderful Life" 2005. It needs to be portrayed as a rebirth of U and its employee spirit. There need to be pictures of employees with good cheer and goodwill ALL OVER THE media tomorrow morning. There needs to be a countdown! and sparkling grape juice and a crystal ball and dancing. Well, I go on. Even then, it might just make for some good memories for those that are there. I hope it's a good time. Good luck.

TWA, Pan Am, Eastern & effective 14JAN05.....US Airways.

I hope i'm wrong but I don't think US Airways can be revived. And just like Eastern, it will be blamed on labor, regardless of the reality.
