7.5, you're right on the money. The only reason someone would be the "white knight" and save US is for sentimental reasons. If VirginUSA opens its doors and hires many US employees with no seniority, new contracts, and an entirely new organization, that's one thing. But buying US Airways and repainting the planes? Not gonna happen.

sad to say, but the days of USairways employees being saved by someone outside the company (BA, Wolf, etc) are over. Nobody inside US has the stomach to turn US into the Alaska Air of the East Coast. Everyone seems to be looking for their cut. How sad to see a good company fail...
