Gretchen Carlson Suit Against Fox News Head

Financial Times:
The timing of Mr Ailes’ exit was still under discussion, however, even as one person close to Mr Ailes said a hasty exit could trigger an exodus of anchors from the highly profitable division.
“A lot of talent would be very concerned,” this person said: “He’s made a tremendous amount of money for a lot of people: the Murdochs and the talent. Where Roger goes, the talent will go.”
The Financial Times reported earlier this week that several Fox News presenters, including highly-rated conservative anchors Greta van Susteren, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, are allowed by their contracts to leave the network if Mr Ailes goes.
The risk of a walkout of top talent from US conservatives’ favourite television brand was highlighted late on Tuesday when Breitbart, the conservative website, cited an unnamed anchor as saying that “all of Fox News’ primetime line-up” would leave if Mr Ailes were pushed out.

Mr Ailes is well connected to many Republican politicians and conservative donors, who may be
willing to back him in a new venture

The Fox Political Network is in 'dumpster fire' mode right now. Of course MSNBC anchor Brian Williams was the first to tie this to the TWA 800, 9/11, Vincent Foster, and Townpete/Bill Vestrup cases.

Dumpster fire?... Fox has always been bigger than Roger Ailes.

Everyone will point at the Carlson lawsuit, but the fact is no CEO reigns forever, and Ailes is 76. He's been at the helm for 20 years.

According to several media sources, Fox News has bigger problems than Ailes leaving or staying.  Fox News has the oldest median viewer age of any news outlet--68 years old.  CNN is second with 59.  Younger people do not get their news from TV.

http://www.recode.net/2016/7/21/12251654/roger-ailes-fox-news-big-problem

"The average age of Fox News viewers in primetime, the hours that draw the highest ad rates and so are the ones that matter, is 68 — a group that advertisers don’t pay to reach. In the world of cable news, marketers really only pay for viewers in the 25-54 age range. That means a good chunk of Fox News’ audience is worth little to nothing."

Now, I know that there are any number of you that will respond that "everyone knows that recode.net is a Communist-controlled news outlet."  If you google "Fox news average viewer age", you will find a number of articles from numerous sources about this problem.  It actually affects almost all cable news outlets, not just Fox.  The problem is that Fox under Mr. Ailes has not pursued any audience other than those willing to sit down and watch a cable broadcast.  Yes, Fox News is still the most profitable, but the majority of that revenue comes from licensing fees charged to cable companies to carry Fox News, not from advertising sources.

BTW, report on early morning TV (yes, I'm in that older demographic that watches TV news.  LOL) that Ailes may become involved in Trump's campaign.  Can't say whether that is good or bad or for whom.
