December schedule loaded.... RJ's to DCA, LGA, PHL

CLT goes like this;

600am CR9
800am CR9
900am DH3
1055am CR9
1210pm DH8
200pm CR9
315pm ERJ
440pm CR7
745pm ERJ

GSO employees still have not been told anything??????

Are they Mainline in GSO, or MLE?? If they are still Mainline, they are a Lucky bunch so far. I would think that you would have been advised if anything was taking place by now. When my former station went to MLE, we were advised in June and it was effective in September. When the Ramp was outsourced I think that we were told in late March or April, and it was effective in June. I forget what timeline the Company is supposed use to inform the Employees. With the Merger and AWA calling the shots, it may be different now...Good Luck to all in GSO, as it really Sucks to see your Station go down the toilet knowing what it once was..

Everyone seems to forget that we now have hubs in LAS and PHX. I can easily see 1xLAS and 1xPHX from GSO. I dont think GSO will go all express.

i bet that they dont put a jet from gso to las or phx. MAY BE THEY'LL USE THE RJS!!!!!

Yup....while it looked good on paper, it was an awful decision to have so much mainline flying, with so many diffrent types of A/C, back in the day agter the US/PI merger.
PHL,PIT,CLT and BWI were the major hubs at the time. I guess we could have called DAY,SYR,IND,CLE,GSO and MIA secondary hubs, and LGA,BOS,DCA and ORF focus cities. WHAT A MESS!!
I look back at a 1989 US timetable I have from after the merge and it looks like a joke. Why it has taken almost 17yrs to correct all these failures is beyond me.

I have to disagree with you about there being too much Mainline flying out of there. Remember that PI actually made money, and GSO along with many other Small Stations were part of it. I worked in EWR for several years, and we had around 5 flts a day to GSO. From what I can recall, most of them did very well on a regular basis. DL even jumped into the market for a while until they realized that PI had it covered. GSO had flts to LGA, BOS, along with several other stations. With DELL and FedEx coming into the region, the company should see a sharp increase in traffic. Hasn't there been much discussion on these boards about how much DL has been building up in GSO??? As they add flights with Mainline equipment, US pulls back and fights with RJ's and Express. This is the very reason that this Airline has gone down the Toilet over the years!!

You seem to forget that it doesn't matter. Once they drop mainline, like now, the CWA employees can become Mainline Express, with the wages that entails.

Then, they can add back up to two daily mainline flights, and yet the agents stay Mainline Express. It's nothing new, they've done this in half a dozen cities already.

I think they start flying into CLT tomorrow (10/13). My question is what paint job they will be in? As far as I know (as a Mesa pilot) they haven't painted them in the new US Airways colors so I assume they will be flying under US Airways ft #'s and U gates in AW colors. Anyone know for sure? I know they are flying these planes with PHX crews and the planes are flying in both the U and AW systems. -Cape
