Just for the record OldGuy, I'm older than you, and------ I didn't start collecting SS until I retired at 68, with 40 years, even though I could have at 65. So,suck it up, and stop crying about it, and put in your time, pay your dues, just like I did!

You could have collected at 65 but you waited. I will never have that option. Neither will anyone younger than 55 right now. So you are sucking it up. In your warped view of things the rest of us having to wait until we are in our 70s for less money than you are getting today is fair. Typical Teabagger.
First off you better wake up. All Republicans in Washington consider Social Security and Medicare entitlements. They not only want to cut these programs, they want to destroy them. Remember Dubya wanted to privatize Social Security? Right before his policies caused the stock market to crash? Let me clue you in. The GOP does not care about you. They represent the wealthy and give your tax money to them only they have admitted that it is not a transfer of wealth because the middle class is not wealthy. I'm not making this up either. The Democrats are not much better but you won't see them giving the Bushes and Cheney's a tax cut while raising your taxes. The GOP handed your money to the savings and loan industry and banks and then criticized the Dems for LENDING money to the car manufacturers. Why? Because middle class people who are in unions work for them. I am a moderate but there is no moderate choice anymore. The teabaggers run the show in the GOP and the liberals run the Dems. Just look at every state that is controlled by the GOP. They are the worst in the country at things like average income, teen pregnancy, infant mortality, high school dropout rate. That should tell you something. But you have the right to believe what you want even thought the evidence is overwhelming against what you claim. Rush and company will always tell you the "Real" story. I am tired of arguing. So go ahead and keep on telling us how much the GOP has done for this country. They have brought us the Great Depression, the Great Recession, The Trickle Down Theory, Iran Contra, Irag, Afghanistan, The Patriot Act, And the worst president in American History. They do this and now they hold the entire country hostage because they want to kill a law that was passed fair and square. There are lots of things I don't like. It doesn't give me the right to put the whole country and it's economy in danger. And yes the Speaker of the House is refusing to allow any vote and he is a Republican so it is their fault. But don't let little things like facts get in your way. But that's all I'm going to say. You can post all you want about how great things would be if it weren't for the Dems. I dare you to contact your Republican Senator or Congressman and ask them if Social Security is an entitlement. I have no doubt they will tell you it is.

Oldguy, there is one thing we agree on, and that is this country is in one hell of a mess! And it's not all Republican states either! ------ California in particular comes to mind! And Illinois, has it's share of ex Democratic Governors, in jail! Chicago, Obama's home town, even though it has some of the toughest hand gun laws in the country, has one of the highest records of gun violence in the country also! Chicago currently run by one of Obama's right hand men! ------- Hey Oldguy? Exactly what States are you talking about? ------ Texas?
So you support the American version of the Taliban? I am at a loss to figure out why the word liberal is so bad. Some good stuff like social security and medicare came from liberals. Also things like the 40 hour work week, pensions (That Republicans are cutting) and child labor laws. Sure. They have some real losers like Nancy Pelosi in their ranks and brought us things like affirmative action, but there are more moderates now than ever in the Democratic party. The GOP has brought things like right to work, tax cuts for the rich, subsidies for Exxon Mobile, the right for PACs to throw millions at candidates, "Person" status for corporations and the leveraged buyout. Right now I can't think of a good thing to come from the Republican side of the aisle or I would list that too. They also have done a great job over the years of union busting and the last time I checked we were still members of a union. It is a sad union, but a union none the less. So you want to vote for a warped minded Texan that would love to destroy your way of life? Didn't you have enough of that with Dubya? Lucky for us all that more people despise the teaparty than like them. Unless the GOP dumps morons like Cruz they will not win the next election. They need to find a McCain without the idiot running mate.
