Health Care

Aside from the fact that your posts show nothing, your response had nothing to do with what was being discussed nor any relevance to the farmers in GA or AL. Still a fail.

Socialist scbools? That's the best you can come up with?
You are all the proof I need of the dumbing down of America. I thank you.

I did not mean to say that a baggage handler was a bad thing. If it cam across that way, I apologize. I also commend you for taking the opportunity to further your education and better yourself. It is great that there was a program in place to assist you when in need.

I also furthered my education leading up to the NWA AMFA strike. I was able to get my Bachelors and Masters with the help of student loans (unsubsidized).

I am not sure what you mean by "socialist schools". I assure you that none of the schools I attended taught socialism in anything other than a historical and political science context.

so very glad to hear you landed well on your feet, La Li Lu.

thanks for making a tangible difference in the world because of your actions and not just your words.

"At the White House, Obama acknowledged that "we fumbled the rollout of this health care law" and pledged to "just keep on chipping away at this until the job is done."
In other words he is going to do everything he can to force this on the American citizens.

It's unclear what the impact of Thursday's changes will be for the millions of people who have already had their plans canceled. While officials said insurance companies will now be able to offer those people the option to renew their old plans, companies are not required to take that step.
This is a prime example of blame shifting. Insurance companies were given 3 years to do actuary tables and risk pool assessments to comply with the Affordable Care Act then given less than 2 months to do a 180. The Democratic Party is trying to manipulate the public by causing anger from citizens when insurance companies refuse to revoke the cancellations that were forced on them in the first place.

Insurance companies will be required to inform consumers who want to keep canceled plans about the protections that are not included under those plans. Customers will also be notified that new options are available offering more coverage and in some cases, tax credits to cover higher premiums.
Translation. The government is forcing insurance companies to steer people toward Obamacare and paying people off to "get onboard".

Obama said he regretted the political grief he'd caused members of his own party who'd backed him on the health care law. "There is no doubt that our failure to roll out the Affordable Care Act smoothly has put a burden on Democrats, whether they're running or not, because they stood up and supported this effort through thick and thin," he said.
Party loyalty at its finest. Where is his regret for the damage he has done to the American people?

The promise of keeping coverage was Obama's oft-stated pledge when the legislation was under consideration, a calling card since shredded by the millions of cancellations mailed out by insurers.

Fail. Try to stay on topic.

Liberals complain about corporate welfare and then give farmers, the biggest corporate welfare recipients in the country, a free pass to break federal law and hire an illegal workforce while receiving American tax dollars.

That is called privatizing of gains and socializing of losses. One of the oldest scams in America.

"I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the Bank. ... You are a den of vipers and thieves."

This is written by Randy Schnepf an employee of Congressional Research Service and a specialist in agricultural policy. Congressional Research Service is a component of the Library of Congress that conducts research and analysis for Congress on a broad range of issues of national policy.

According to USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS), national net farm income—a key indicator of U.S. farm well-being—is forecast at a record $121 billion in 2013, up 6% from last
year, and about $3 billion above 2011’s previous record.

Since 2008, farm asset values are up 49% while farm debt has risen by only 28%. As a result, the farm debt-to-asset ratio has declined steadily since 2008 and is expected to fall to 10.2%, its lowest level since 1960.

U.S. net (not gross, NET) farm income is forecast at a record $120.6 billion in 2013, about $7 billion (6%)above 2012 and $3 billion above 2011’s previous record (Figure 1 and Table 4).3 When adjusted for inflation (Figure 2), 2013’s net farm income forecast is expected to be slightly behind 2011 and the second-highest since 1974, but well below 1973’s peak.

(another liberal web-site)

As a result, labor contractors and growers must work harder to fill and retain work crews. Cisneros said he even trained and hired high school students this summer to pick grapes – something he was not willing to do in the past. (So much for Americans being unwilling to work on farms. Notice he did not say he was NOT ABLE to hire American high school students in the past, he said he was "NOT WILLING".)

Growers like Carson Smith, in turn, have raised wages by 20 percent over the past two years. The wine grape grower, who farms 800 acres near Fresno, said his biggest competition for workers is from table grape growers who are also raising wages for their pickers. (So they diluted the pool of illegals, wages went UP by 20 percent, and more Americans are working. Imagine that!)

"The fear of a shortage drove us to increase pay," said Smith, who paid his machine drivers $12.75 per hour, $2 more than previous years. "We set our wages to where we thought we could attract people, though it was still tougher than other years to fill our positions. ("The fear of a shortage drove us to increase pay" We set out wages to where we thought we could attract people" Welcome to the world of supply and demand)

Farmers perpetuate the lie that they cannot find Americans to do the work. The truth is farmers love cheap labor and high profits. I have not even touched on farmers using child labor. It is time they let the bats and cobwebs out of their wallet and start paying a fair wage.

You may have noticed I used two liberal websites to prove my points. I did this to show just how stupid liberals are. Liberals wrote this article with the intent of playing the victim card on behalf of the farmers to manipulate the public and to push their socialist propaganda of the value of low cost illegal immigration. Instead they provided me everything I needed to derail their propaganda machine.

Perhaps if you could think of something less stupid to say I would find it worth my time to respond to you.

Oh I think you meant exactly that. Why else would you have specified "bag handler"?

Most people would have structured the sentence like this."Coming from someone who blames everyone but himself for being laid off, I will take that with a large chunk of salt."

The truth is your backsliding because I called you out on it.

I accept the apology but I doubt its validity.

Assist being the operative word. I used it to get through a rough time to position myself to be self sustaining. I did not let it become a lifestyle.

You never gave the response I asked for about illegal immigrants bankrupting hospitals. What is your position on that?

Back in the day, ramp guys were called baggage handers. Just like I was called a mechanic. I never got offended when someone called me a mechanic instead of an "Aircraft Maintenance Technician". (I thought "fleet service" workers at AA are/were baggage handlers?) At NW they were called "ESE's" or Equipment Service Employee, or better known as baggage handler, or more affectionately known as "bag smashers". None of my friends that did the job ever got offended by being called that.

Maybe you are one of these politically correct, socialist schooled, sensitive guys who gets his feelings hurt by being called a baggage handler?

Get over yourself.

As for the socialist comment, you are the one who posted (#332): "It is nice to know that our socialist ran schools are championing liberal agendas to our children"

Feel free to start your own thread on that.

Back on health care for AA/US workers: Can anyone answer this: How much do AA employees pay for premiums? What does it look like this open season?

Politically correct? Political correctness is simply liberal peer pressure.

It would be impossible for you to hurt my feelings Glenn. My opinion of you is far too low for that. I really only made that comment because I wanted to see you spin it. You did not fail me. J

I did not wish to derail the thread by discussing such a deep topic at length. I chose to decline your invitation to do so.

You posted a small piece of a large post.  You neglected to mention the information I posted about Democrats in California pushing an agenda to provide low cost healthcare for illegal immigrants.

I suppose you cannot see the link between the two stories. I assure you they are both related to current healthcare.

Let me spell it out for you.

Democrats are using a heavily unionized, heavily liberal government education system to condition children to a philosophy. The fact that the citizens of California (THE liberal cesspool) would even consider shifting tax dollars to an illegal population instead of using it to help poor Americans get medical care as intended is proof solid that decades of pushing a socialist agenda in a socialist dominated education system is coming to fruition.

In an indoctrinated mind (like one warped by a socialist school system for instance) a felonious border jumper is a victim of America’s medical system and you know how Democratic liberals love to “help” victims at someone else’s expense.

In an indoctrinated mind government ran healthcare is a good idea. That is why we have this disaster called Obamacare.

Are we on the same page now?

I have other goals at this time. Maybe later.

I will tell you what it looks like.

Your cost are going to go up because of the combination of a liberal agenda called Obamacare and illegal aliens sticking you and your insurance company with the bill for their anchor babies and emergency room visits.

Any more stupid questions?

Its so sad to watch someone who has been screwed over by Corporate America lash out at Illegal immigrants who are even more exploited than him. He blames the liberals for Illegal aliens when its the Conservatives who keep them illegal, thus easier to exploit. Its the Conservatives who actively encourage and support a Foreign policy where we create and foster miserable conditions in these peoples homelands that drive them to our country. We suppress land and other reforms in those countries and keep criminals in power who allow American Interests (corporations) to steal their resources, our Banks impose loan shark like interest rates that keep them in perpetual debt and prevent them from providing even basic societal services. But blaming the rich and powerful may have consequences and its so much easier to blames the ills of society on those who cant fight back.
