When Charlotte-based mechanic Steve Marriott suffered a medical emergency during a business trip in Cancun, the US Airways family joined together to assist him. Marriott wrote to thank his fellow employees for offering assistance when he most needed it.

Charlotte Line Maintenance Production Supervisor Eric Sims arranged immediate medical attention and accompanied Steve to the hospital. Concurrently, Pittsburgh-based Operations Duty Managers Robert Medina and Lewis Clark arranged for Steve’s wife Karyn to fly to Cancun.

Hub Manager of Line Maintenance Mike Annan and Director of Maintenance Operations Jeff Evers, both Charlotte-based, assisted Karyn at the Charlotte airport, while Philadelphia-based Flight Attendant Vera Alford helped her on the plane. In Cancun, Station Manager Omar Yuen assisted Karyn on her arrival and helped her and Steve on their return home.

“When a US Airways employee needs help, it is truly amazing how employees from throughout the airline will join together to offer it,â€￾ said Terri Pope, managing director of customer service. “The degree to which employees care about one another is a continuing source of pride and encouragement for all of us.â€￾
