I am getting really sick of those seats that don't lock. First it was nominal... then gradually a few more....... now I had at least 6 seats this last flight that wouldn't lock. I am suspecting no one is fixing this. Is it that hard to lock a seat?

Replacing the hydrolock on a seat is a simple task - something even the most dense scab/vendor should be able to accomplish. Maybe the scabs are pencil-whipping the discrepancies, or maybe the parts needed to fix the problem are NIS.

You are writing up each seat with problems in the logbook, aren't you Jen? Or does NW still have the policy of having the F/A's go through the captain to let them document any non-airworthy cabin discrepancies?

its sort of a swa type, just look at the alledged maintaince and that itself is a laughable joke at scab air

I have been writing these up... at least these people can lock them so they don't recline! I thought it was a "easy fix". Nobody cares.
Yeah... made you guys look! How hard is it! LOL.

Hey jenny,
Why don't you learn to fix the recline yourself ??
I'm sure no one will file a grievance against you..........

I have to admit, when I saw the title and who the author was, well...let say I was intrigued.
Keep writing them up Jen. Do it right be before boarding. They can't sit a passenger in a seat with an inop hydrolock. Tell the mechanic (SCAB) to use that RED tape if they defer it. Nothing liike some advertisement.

Jenny,

This sometimes will cure a recline issue (like a slowly reclining seat).

Push and hold the recline button in. While doing this, exercise the seat back, back and forth (full travel) about 5 times in rapid succession. Then check if the seat remains upright. If not, then the hydrolok is shot. Most of the time this will work.

Good luck!
