Don't lie Local 12...! Tell us how you really feel about the Non-Licensed Mechanics.local 12 proud said:thrustful jet, thets a no brainer because to be a plumber you must have a license by the state. a helper does not, so who will be held liable for the work and or repairs?.........THE PLUMBER! you see with a license you are accountable for your work, im not saying that a non licensed person is any less qualified, just that with your license comes more responsibility and liability, so you tell me who should make more!

hss, once again you twist the facts and on top of that your apparently in the wrong buissness since you claim to be a mind reader and tells someone what they are really thinking. I SAID A PERSON WITH A LICENCE SHOULD RECIEVE A PREMIUM AS OPPOSED TO SOMEONE WITHOUT i also said a license does not make one more qualified, can you work the line station without a license?......NO because without it you cannot sign a logbook, does'nt mean your not cappable of the work. a mechanic in any capacity should recieve top wages, but yes thier is a premium for a LICENSE........now go sell your communist mantra to the citrus pickers, bartentenders, janitors, etc..... and tell them they should be making just below a surgeon's wages......better yet why not go organize in the former soviet union they once shared your ideaology!High Speed Steel said:Don't lie Local 12...! Come on now, I can hear it in your post's. You consider yourself far superior to the Un-Licensed Mechanics don't you Local 12...? You know the funny thing is the last time I checked it was not a requirement for employment at AA to be a Licensed Mechanic.....! Many of our Un-Licensed Mechanics have spent years in the Aerospace Industry even outside of AA, and have not been required to be licensed...... Careful what you say, someone may be listening......!!!!!!!!

AMFA: The YUGO of the labor movement
Where bargaining means YOU GO.....!
Perhaps I was a little harsh about the perceived "pointlessness" of the thread. How much an airline mechanic should be paid is not a pointless discussion; comparing the billing rate for plumbers to MX W-2 wages seemed to go nowhere. My comments were directed toward that comparison. I apologize for the unnecessary harshness.Buck said:I will defend my thread.
I understand exactly what you are saying. The $65 is not the going rate for the plumber. However at American the fully allocated labor rate is around $90 an hour. So you tell me what the mechanics top wage should be. And while you are passing judgment on this issue could you relate what your profession is, please?
