HP PLANE worked at PIT BASE

Since 700 is so good at posting phots I wonder if he can post the ones of the IAM striking as promised when the first Baby Bus "crossed the tracks" down in Mobile.

Oh yeah, they're aren't any. Your IAM "stronger scope" working for you again.
good one. now days lots of talk and no walk. 😉 B)

This thread was started talking about the IAM CBA at work on a A/C in Pitt hanger but 700 did not have the fact, as it is on most of his replies. The IAM CBA had nothing to do with the West A/C being in the hanger.

The members did not want to strike over the airbus outsourcing.

Roach visited every mtc station and was told by the members that they did not want to strike.

Ahhh.....yes a Q & A session is always a better consession for the union representation when it doen't want to do something. A vote would have told the union what it's members wanted, not an unscientific poll. No matter what answers the union got from its members it will do what it wants to do and claim that "it was the will of the members". 🙂

I do remember that day.....he came through the hangar on daylight and afternoon and talked to a few groups and I guess they expressed their will not to strike. Funny thing though...I guess he forgot there were three shifts running...3rd shift does not count?

Interesting...........sounds much like what Al H. told us a few weeks back.........our numbers are too small, it doesn't really matter. What a crock!!

N753US Is in PHX for repair to dent/hole on L/H side just fwd of L1 door. Wile walking out to A/C to see damage last night could not help but see: 1. six (6) screws on a belly panel that had been speed taped up in place. 2. a belly panel that was pealing apx, 6in X 2ft 3. #1 Eng I/B fan cowl service door that was held close with speed tape. 4. L/H aft wind to body panel with the worst speed tape job for loose or missing seal.

If this is the pride you take in your maintenance then I wouldn't let you work on my BICYCLE.

Only people that live by this sould be under the AMT's contract. The others should get your own. Stop living on the AMT's coat tails. " 700 "

I think he was talking flight crew in the first part and mx in the second part.

Flight crews can not work on each others a/c but mx can and does ( all over the sys )

Thats right we work on america west a/c in ftlauderdale all the time.We have to cordinate with there maintence control, but it happens quite often.

I hope soon we all will be one department.Im happy to work on either. The amw planes have different engines so we arent checked out to run them , but Im sure we could if management wanted us too.

Bottom line is lets all work together to make this airline sucesfull , whatever we are asked to work on.

We had a airbuss that was broke in ft lauderdale a usair plane and we didnt have the jacks to raise it to swing the gear so we had to ferrie it to charlotte.I was glad we had such great mechanics in charlotte to trouble shoot all the problems this a/c had. Charlotte had it fixed in a couple shifts and what a tough problem it was.It had several things wrong with it.

My point is , that in every major maintence station awa and usair have great mechanics that stand up when there needed .When a plane breaks it takes tools and intelligent experienced mechanics to fix it , and Im glad to work with and know some of the best in the buisness. There have been many times that Ive had to ask a better mechanic or more experienced how to do something .I wish i knew as much as some of the best. Im sure on the awa side it is the same .

Bottom line is you can never know it all , and chances are if you dont know then the guy working next to you might.

Im proud to have AWA as are brothers and look foward to working with all of you.

What he said!!

Really........they're machines. The employees are human beings (for the most part 😀 ). Can't wait to see the day that it's not us/them, east/west but fellow employee.

Must say though, that plane sure looks different with CFM's on wing and the paint job (still in the old scheme) makes it appear shorter and thicker in comparison to the new paint scheme.
