At the Old UsAirways our children who are full time students loose their passes and insurance on their 23rd birthday...
I was told that it is now 25 as that is what AWA's policy is.... does anyone know???

"Your financially dependent unmarried children or step-children till Jan. 1 of the year they turn 24. (If 19 through 23 at any time during a calendar year, they must be verified as full- time students by the end of the calendar year in which they turn age 18, and each year thereafter each year during their birth month.)"

Thank you for the link.... I was under the impression that it was at the end of their 22nd birthday turning 23... so this is good...
actually at the end of their 23rd... birthday.... turning 24...right???

Thanks

If they meant it the way they wrote it, a student dependent loses the travel benefit on Jan 1 of the year they turn 24. So if their birthday is Jan 1 they lose the benefit on their 24th birthday. If their birthday is Dec 31, they lose the benefit the day after they turned 23.

Example: the dependent turns 24 in 2012. They lose pass benefits on Jan 1, 2012 regardless of when birthday is during the year.

As Jim said you must still be claiming them on your taxes as a dependent.
