Flights from CLT to IAH are flown by America West Express (Mesa Airlines) using the CRJ-900 even though they operate out of CLT. For some reason, thehub does not allow you to check the availability of these flights, but you can find out by calling the non-rev travel line.

US is dropping DCA-IAH in a few weeks, ostensibly to create the slots/planes needed to up DCA-MSY to 3x E70.

Handing the market over to CO on a silver platter?

Last day is March 4.

So DCA-IAH goes from 3x to 0x.
DCA-MSY goes from 1x to 3x.

Where's the other pair of slots?

DCA-TPA goes from 4x to 5x.

But as I intimated, the slots are just an excuse. Pre-Katrina, they ran both DCA-MSY and DCA-IAH at 3x. After Katrina, they took the MSY slots and added a frequency each to a few other markets (GSP and BDL IIRC). Plus, they discontinued DCA-CLE in December and added those slots mostly to Florida IIRC. So there were slots around for IAH if they really wanted to continue the service. The planes are another matter, as pre-Katrina DCA-MSY was 3x 319, and the E70s really are in short supply, especially as utilization is going to hell with the transfer of planes over to Repugnant. But again, it's really just an excuse to can the service.

So out of the 6 business markets they added (ATL, CLE, DFW, DTW, IAH, ORD) a year ago, which was a great and long overdue move in my opinion, Tempe has now run away from CLE and IAH, and CCY previously downgraded DTW from 4x E70 to 3x CRJ. Can any of the Embraer division f/a's on here comment on loads on those flights?

Im flying dca-iah today.

Are you on US/MA or Republic? Pack an apple if ur on Republic, they dont offer anything. But dont put it in the seat pocket or thier Express FA's will bite your head off.

The E/170s are in short supply because Republic can't crew them fast enough. They refused to take the mainline 170 division pilots and flight attendants, but cant seem to keep up with getting new hires while the US employees are laid off. Therefore the planes are sitting between leaving USAirways and going to republic.

CLE was a hard market thanks to CO. Even back in 90-92 we dropped CLE to Dash8s and then discontinued altogether. I'm sure the IAH market was the same way. We also had this problem trying to get the DC-STL market from TW back when they were having problems. If we are not able to get sufficient traffic on these routes to make them profitable, then by all means, please move them to something that has a better chance of making money.
