mechs (real mechs) wont have a problem finding a $ 25.00 + hr job to start. utility and stores will have a hard time to find a job that pays $ 8.50 hr.
JUSTAMECH , you have a license, if you loose it so goes your livelyhood, utility and stores dont have license and they dont have nothing to loose if they mess up in their jobs, however they make as much as you do.

with that.. What I don't get is his burning desire to jump on the grenade for the IAM.. He knows full well regardless of what job he has that the IAM has done a poor job with its membership.. Yes the membership should do more or act better but in the end the leadership of the IAM stinks.. Plain and simple..
This last little thing with having to mail out the proposal while every other union on the property posted it on the their websites is just another reason do dislike the IAM..
They got it in their hands within hours it should have been posted.. You want to mail it, you want to have meetings go right ahead but post it.. F the media. If they get it so what.. So some mechanic who's been on vacation for a week in Alaska picks up the USA today and reads he got boned, so friggin what.. The majority of the mechanics/Stock/Utility want to see it.. So post it..

He has an opinion as do we. Thats the beauty of this forum.. To post ideas and information.. I just wish someone would scan a copy of the last offer just to allow the majority of people to see it..

700, Not sure where you got that info from....but it's wrong. I interviewed with Timco. I was offered a mech position, or an inspector position. mech was $19/hour and change....inspector was almost $24/hour...to start + benefits. It was for a position in Lake City, Fla. Was not what I wanted, though, and also not where I wanted to live. But...Lake City is very rural, so the money could go a long way compared to other areas.700UW said:
