Iam Meeting In Tempe Arizona

Don't try to kid anyone, there was no voice even with the Union around here. Maybe there was if you were fortunate enough to be in one of the Hubs "Sniffing" behind one of the AGS's, but that was it. I firmly believe that there was little or no difference between having a Union or not during CH-11. The Union was completly Powerless, and the Comapny did whatever they wanted to with the membership. Wages and Benefits were slashed, and many jobs were outsourced all with Union representation in place. The only difference was that some paid dues to lose their pay and/or jobs and some didn't. The end result was the same weather you had a Union or not. By the way, the cuts that we took in Fleet back in 92 were nothing compared to what has taken place over the last 3 years WITH a Union!! Our wages snapped back, and the Stock deal that we got more than paid back the W-2 cuts, at least in my case they did. I know that you are going to toss the PDO issue into the ring, but only getting paid for 1/2 a sick day now is even worse...
you're mistaken.the union did vote to accept these changes because like it or not the union is the body of the membership and the majority voted to accept these changes. IE:THE UNION

without a union the company would be free to impose cuts and such....with your union at least the members had a chance to choose whether or not to accept and majority rules.

hey gonzo...i'd make a point of getting some IAM contracts set up for your people at this meeting.

Hmmmm.........that's a thought delldude........but don't you think I would be wasteing my time? I guess it wouldn't hurt for either myself or some else to ask. Thanks. 🙂

A good union member would honor a picket line, I know I would.

Second what F/S gets from the company has nothing to do with the M&R and visa versa.

And if you cant realize what the union has done for you, go back to 1992 or go ask the non-union folks how they did not have a voice or vote on what happened to them during bankruptcy.
Thats why the IAM agreed to do work by striking AMFA members at NW! You know it's one thing to come to work when a group from a different union is on strike, it makes you a SCAB when you start performing struck work. Don't let the facts get in your way!

only one way to find out and thats in their face.....in solidarity of course.
you did see the contract posting on another thread?...it was supplied by labor relations at U as they wish to see IBT in so they can outsource....guarantee it.
notice all the little high lite thingys?? its a management copy....don't let them use you guys unwittingly!
i know these clowns....its right up their sleeves. 😉 😉

was that the majority of the unions in the hubs plus the added on 2 cities pvd and bdl to get it thru? i know that in most if not all of the 20 plus cities that got their jobs outsourced they wouldnt vote themselves out.

The only difference would be that Everyone would get Screwed equally, instead of just those in the out stations. The Vote was stacked in favor of the " Majority" before a ballot was ever handed out. The Union gave the Company it's blessing to outsource the Class 2 stations and sat on the sidelines while their Dues Paying members lost their Friggen Jobs!! The IAM just went along with the NIMBYS theory...Not In My Backyard....Screw your Union Brothers, as long as they are not in our Station. I am glad to say that I no longer pay that Moronic Association a Cent, and I have no plans of ever doing so.

Ron Harbinson's name is all over the changes made in file, Ron Harbinson is manager labor relations ground at US Airways.

So yes the copy came from US Airways management.

I agree...a good Union member would not cross a picket line!!! But a GOOD UNION MEMBER WOULD CAST THEIR VOTE!!!!! And ONLY ONCE!!!

Let's talk about not having a voice.....How many times did the IAM vote your contract? Was it more than once?

The last two rounds of concessions there was ONLY ONE VOTE!

Look in the mirror.

Fact in January of this year there was one vote for the mechanic and related to accept or reject the final offer.

Fact in January of 2003 there was only one vote to accept or reject the concessions.

You are the liar.
