you're mistaken.the union did vote to accept these changes because like it or not the union is the body of the membership and the majority voted to accept these changes. IE:THE UNIONDon't try to kid anyone, there was no voice even with the Union around here. Maybe there was if you were fortunate enough to be in one of the Hubs "Sniffing" behind one of the AGS's, but that was it. I firmly believe that there was little or no difference between having a Union or not during CH-11. The Union was completly Powerless, and the Comapny did whatever they wanted to with the membership. Wages and Benefits were slashed, and many jobs were outsourced all with Union representation in place. The only difference was that some paid dues to lose their pay and/or jobs and some didn't. The end result was the same weather you had a Union or not. By the way, the cuts that we took in Fleet back in 92 were nothing compared to what has taken place over the last 3 years WITH a Union!! Our wages snapped back, and the Stock deal that we got more than paid back the W-2 cuts, at least in my case they did. I know that you are going to toss the PDO issue into the ring, but only getting paid for 1/2 a sick day now is even worse...
without a union the company would be free to impose cuts and such....with your union at least the members had a chance to choose whether or not to accept and majority rules.
