Just a little taste of home drifter.
I might just take you up on that!!! Now that I have week-ends off and can fly--but will wait till fall when the system is a little less traveled--don't want to get caught in Phl with US AND the FAA computer problems!!
 
I think it all starts in HR. Have you ever been on an interview and the HR person didn't have a clue what your job was? Just because someone has a college degree doesn't make that person every day smart. Look at the BODs of companies giving millions to top level management. It starts at the top. Why don't we as employees of a company all start a letter writing campaign to the top management. Just one letter from each of us on DPs desk, now how many would that be. Pass the word around. If they don't get it lets teach them. At the same time it will cost us nothing to do Johnny acts for the passenger.
 
Johnny cared about making a difference. There are thousands of frontlinre employees at USAirways who do too.

Unfortunately sitting on their arses are about 1000 people who could really make a difference looking for Johnny's to step on to raise their paycheck..

Sounds like you are looking for some one to step on to climb up that ladder.


I certainly agree, there are thousands of employees out making a difference everyday. It just takes few a dozen or so knuckleheads on this chat board making them all look like snot-nosed crybabies everytime something doesn't go just they way they want it to (And I'll also agree the same holds for "management" types.) There are bound to be losers in any organization, but the majority are hard working honest people, much too busy serving their customers than venting on a chat board.

I'm sorry, but I do not serve customers from the comfort of my own home from my own personal computer. I'm sure the company would love to find something for me to do with my own time when I'm off the clock, but it isnt going to happen. At work, all work, my own time, I can #### all I want (or would you rather me do it to my customers while I'm working?) 😉

And didnt we just have a #### about the bitching threads a while ago? 🙄
 
People like Johnny aren't sitting here bitc*ing on chatboards, they are out there doing their jobs, as they are paid to do. I'll bet he never whined about seniority integration, stupid management, a crappy IT conversion, low pay or even the fact he was born with an incurable defect.

Maybe all of you have something to learn from him too.


How do you know?

1. Are you accusing those on these boards as ignoring their shift, on the computer instead of working? You, perhaps, know something the rest of us don't? Perhaps you are talking about the workers at the end of B-concourse in CLT, are you accusing them of shirking their work to be online?

2. Johnny worked for a store that enabled their employees to do their best, contra-wise the preppy-boys in Tempe. You are assuming the management groups are the same. They are not.

In a realistic environment, bitching works. It allows someone to blow off steam and actually likely will lead to solutions. I doubt Johnny has a problem with seniority integration, stupid management, never had to worry about IT conversion, I bet his pay is low, but, he is living at home, his company is likely eligible for "certain state funds" and considering his "defect" and your post, we should only be so lucky to have Johnny replace you. Just kidding.

You want to see an environment where no one bitches, but should, watch the computer tapes of the Delta L-1011 crash in DFW. Both the FO and FE remarked at how "black" the cloud was, the lightening, but no one bitched or used a cuss word and many, including the cockpit crew, died as a result. Had just one person yelled, "go around, jerk!", some 127 people would be alive today, including the person yelling.

Do you want to remove a last opportunity to save an aircraft or an airline just because you are depressed at the comments? You wish to restrict opportunities to turn things around?

Are . you . that . messed . up?

'qwerty' and there type are not use to agents having a voice. Get over it and listen.
 
The problem is there ARE a lot of frontline employees who try to do what's right by their passangers and we are (were) cut down by that. Someone said I was too good to my passangers but when I was finished with them they didn't want to fly anyone else. They had their whole family and friends flying on us. Why?? Because one agent made them happy. I know I MADE USAIRWAYS FLY.
