So, from what I understand, the initial F/A displacement in PIT that was to occur on 01/01/08 is now pushed back to 02/01/08. Does this have anything to do w/ the pilots grievance or can this management just not get it together ??? (or both?)

I just got my packet in the mail today and it said I have the choice of February or March to chose from...what happened to January ?
Not that I am complaining about one less month to commute but shouldn't the company announce that the displacements have been pushed back by a month ? What's the big secret ???? A friend of mine said the union should say something but I say it's not their job.
There was even a Q&A in the packet that said they would not be offering any type of buy-out and we know that's not true since they are offering one. Don't they even read what they write before sending it out ????

Proof reading songbird? Now you have really just asked way to much! How dare you!? 😉

I know, silly girl that I am....expecting them to have a clue...... 😛h34r:

JUST REMEMBER THAT THE LAST DISPLACEMENT MR. P.K. COULD NOT EVEN ADD THE NUMBERS UP.
IT WAS LIKE 160 ACTIVE + 40 INACTIVE = 217 F/A <FOR ILLISTRATION PURPOSE ONLY>

WHY HE STILL HAS A JOB IS BEYOND THOUGHT

Ever try to put together packets for hundreds of flight attendants? I have........ it is not an overnight job!

Those packets were already packed sealed and addressed (possibly with FedEx or whomever already) by the time the announcement was made about the buy-out.

That beind said, we can all figure out (cause we are adults) that the "no buyout" has changed.

I'm sure the company finally realized that they would have a bad holiday situation if they made crews move 1/1 so they moved it to 2/1 or 3/1 so these people would forget about it and bring in more profits for the big wigs

How about the fact that if 150 left PIT on 1/1/08 and they all needed additional training, that training would need to be done in NOV/DEC......I know it doesn't HAVE to be done before you move to a new base but if I was a PIT person, I would want it so I could start working Int'l as soon as I got to my new base.
Obviously Tempe doesn't get paid to think....they always realize what they have done after the fact. BRILLIANT !!!!!!!

sky high states: BINGO. Why have another Xmas meltdown? Show "alittle" compassion to the PIT folks and have them experience the CLOSURE after the HOLIDAYS. Smart move, Tempe.
Talk around PIT, most are commuting to PHL and CLT. MORE going back on Reserve........OR staying ON RESERVE. <ouch>

Actually yes, my PR job in college 20 years ago had us send out packets to around 2300 students at least once a quarter. Most ranged from 10-30 pages. Kind of like the one I just got in the mail. We put all the pages together/stapled/put them in envelopes/added postage and hauled them to the post office in a day and a halfs time. As I said, this was 20 years ago before the high tech stuff was really in full swing as far as copy machines, postage meters, etc.
Keep in mind too that in this packet I just received, there was a lot of stuff that was already in the first packet sent to us and available in the PIT crew room. C'mon, cut me a break. It was only 314 packets and they still screwed it up. Put down your glass of KoolAid.

Did you see the latest CBS....

27 lines of flying in PIT for January for the 314 F/As there..............

200 displacements February 1st

and TWO lines of flying in February for the other 114 ??????

Base closes March 1st....

Incredible !
