The way out of it was to ask for binding arbitration, agreeing to what the arbiter said.

Sad day for the union and the East pilots today. I am embarrassed..... RR

Lots of sad to go around. Sad that we didn't finish this when Prater delivered it to Parker. Sad that the east walked away from a nearly completed contract. Sad that we then couldn't do the Delta merger for the sole reason of labor seniority unrest (and the rumored "Delta wage" if we could move quickly). Sad that we could now be negotiating a second post-merge contract (like Delta). Sad that our union has spent over 10 million dollars to an attorney that promised victory, that is now seemingly departing (with our union dues). Sad that our union decided to sue 24+ of our pilots for RICO that was slammed by the courts twice. Sad that our "union" has spent itself into the RED with litigation, and is short on cash. Sad that we have ZERO funds set in a merger fund account for the next merge (because there will be one, our CEO says so). Sad that our "union" has failed to allow the west pilot group to truly participate as equal partners in all of the key committee chair positions. Sad, Sad, Sad.

We must sit back and ask ourselves: WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM THIS CONTINUING SAGA?

Me? I've learned that no matter how much you try to educate people on integrity, the law, common sense, etc.......sometimes you just can't fix a bad attitude that has been poisoned by angry people. I'm not embarrassed, I remain amazed.

I'm trying to see if DreaminofCLT and Res Jud's feeling are reflective of the majority of the west. If it is, there is no use in trying anything different.

Now why should the westies all feel the same way about most any subject? Even when the westies that post here don't? Maybe I should be asking if luvthe9, BS, apollo, and Claxon represent the feelings of all east pilots...it'd make as much sense.

You set up an artificial situation, then act insulted when someone points out that it's as fake as Carmen Electra's boobs.

Besides, if my assumptions about MIGS are close 40% of east votes would probably outvote the west anyway.

So wondering why the west doesn't save the east from itself is your version of seeing a way out? Talk the people who got you (the east) into this mess into getting you (the east) out of it. You could start with some easties on this board. Generic platitudes aimed at no one in particular have as much effect as USAPA's "You guys stop (nod nod) doing these bad things the company claims (wink wink)...

Actually now F/A can enter in the CML, but the captain is supposed to initial it.

I was talking about the Logbook that is in the cockpit that the pilots and mtc use.

OK. But the CML is a book that is used for broken things to be entered. They are non-essential, so they don't have to addressed by maint. right away. So all that stuff from the other thread about the 10 MELS being reading lights, etc. really didn't make any sense.

We have a well laid out procedure for things that are broken and last time I checked, everything that is broken is to be entered in a logbook when it is discovered. Not a bad system, and laid out the way it is for good reasons.
 
This ruling is really a bad thing for anyone associated with this company. Any metal gets bent with injuries in the next year or so, and the company is now liable in writing for pushing it's crews to fly fatigued and or with known maintenance issues. Not an easy one to overcome financially or prejudicially.
The really messed up thing about your statement is many Eastholes are wringing their hands in joyful hope that something terrible happens...in the supremely effed up world of uscaba that would be considered some kind of "win".

How boys. With the injunction in place from the NC (your backyard, hometown judge). What do you think is going to happen in the NY case? The company has in hand an injunction and a judge that says it is usapa that has violated status quo not US Airways. How much longer do you think suit will survive? Maybe Cleary should kill that suit and save the money so he does not spend this union into total BK.

Hey I know let's see what kind of concessions the FLP ho's are willing to give if usapa goes bust? Full FPL to the last day? Just how big is Cleary's ego and how far are you guys going to follow him to feed his ego?
