I'm not saying this guy is completely accurate, much is inaccurate, but here is a Letter writing campaign below:
Gentlemen,
Urgent action is required from all TWU local 591 members!
Recently the TWU/IAM association agreed to hire former NMB arbitrator Joshua M. Javits to create a final integrated seniority list. Mr. Javits sent a letter to the TWU/IAM association asking for the members input on how & why the seniority integration will affect them and any suggestions they may have (see attached files).
I was informed that the IAM membership has already started their email/letter writing campaign on their position to the arbitrator Joshua Javits who was appointed by the TWU/IAM Association. Mr. Javits has given a window for written comments or information regarding the integration of seniority lists by the TWU/IAM Association members for consideration. I urge everyone to send comments so that they are received no later than July 31st, 2016 to;

There are two key seniority points to mention,
1) The IAM company seniority date does not change due to layoff, whereas our AA company date gets adjusted when you are recalled from layoff. Tie breakers for occupational seniority utilizes company seniority. That’s why it’s important to maintain our date of hire (initial company date of hire) for tie breakers when blending the lists. We the TWU members must make it clear to the arbitrator that in order to be on a somewhat level playing field we MUST to the extent that two or more employees have the same date of entry into the classification, placement on the integrated seniority list as to those employees shall be determined by the date of hire for tie breaker application.
2) The IAM has a separate crew chief seniority list (Lead time). Your C/C Seniority at the IAM begins when you first enter the classification (day one), on the other hand with the TWU, when you enter the C/C classification you maintain your occupational seniority date regardless when you enter the C/C Classification. Same goes for TCC & Q/A department! Eliminating separate C/C and Q/C seniority and utilizing what we currently have in our contract is what we want to maintain. Also, in addition to the TWU Crew Chief classification vs the IAM lead time. Example; IAM contract, work 6 months as a mechanic, transfers to PHL and becomes a crew chief for, let's say for 6 months then transfers out to a mechanic position, guess what! He continues to accrue crew chief seniority (lead time) although he doesn't hold the position any longer.
About 30% of the people on the IAM seniority list accrue lead time and only 9% are actually working leads.
I encourage everyone to start emailing or write letters to the
arbitrator and make it very clear that we are by far the larger Airline (4 to 1)
and we want to maintain what we currently have and that our contract language is fair & equitable to all on a level playing field. PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO ALL TWU MEMBERS
Thanks
