I'm financially very very well off. I try to average about 1600 hours a year so my IAM Pension doesn't get cut, but I guess I'll miss it this year. Oh well.I'm looking at these negotiations objectively. I'm sure there is some bias in my comments but with my seniority and financial situation, I myself don't need a quickie contract. However, I do think a expeditious contract is wise, given the context and risk.Anyone who wants to nickel and dime and sound like a strong union guy by going to the mat for all items is fooling themselves and can say hello to the Easter Bunny for me. It isn't happening guys. It's not happening. These are NON section 6 talks and that is incredibly significant. What is slightly less well known is that these talks are hedged on non-union delta. We can't pick and choose. This is an either/or negotiations, not a both/and. Those that want to sweat over the small things will find themselves in section 6 in 3 years, and risk everything. I'm against that strategy 100%.I'm not convinced of Delta management and that leaves me very uncomfortable about bunkering down longterm. Delta started this wage race and it can end it.I think it is wise to unpack the core items and bring it to a vote when a 30% pay raise is on the line. Yes, that is significant. If we were talking about a 2%, 50 cent pay raise then maybe another strategy would work. Plus, the TWU contract has several more stations it can lose as its 'drop dead' Cinderella date is approaching. We will lose more leverage if we allow that timeline to approach.Nab the money, gain some stations, keep full time protections; part time caps; enhance days off to match CWA/IBT, along with the other 17 Ta's and call it a day.

I'll mention weAAsles.  I'll do that.  I'll be mentioning many names and it's not going to be pretty. This is very very disturbing that we are pushing the company away as we sweat over small things. And the money is very very important.  If it was only a 50 cent pay raise then I can understand someone saying "It's not about the money", but this money is significant and picking up more stations is significant. Keeping other things is significant.  Stalling talks over temp agents is not suppose to be significant.  The video will be fashioned after a thorough review of the next negotiation update. If the next update is another piss and moan about management then I'm gonna phone home to our negotiators in a video.

Trust me, if these guys miss their window and fail at securing the industry leading wages they promised and picking up some more stations then there will be HELL TO PAY.  S* better happen no later than the fall otherwise we are all screwed over these morons.

you arent even an airline employee but anytime someone makes a statement that a 30% pay raise is significant, you do personal attacks. As far as the money, i attached it to other core issues or its a deal breaker.

If you and the 2 unions keep sweating the smaller things then you will be personally responsible for effing this up and potentially closing more TWU stations in 2018.

Me?

Now that's funny.

I'm not involved in your negotiations, but you are certainly focused money.

You arent even an airline employee. At any rate, are you saying that our negotiation team isnt focused on a 30% pay increase?
Im not sure I follow you but it isnt like we are talking about a 50 cent pay increase, so l have a very very hard time trying to grasp why a $9 pay increase wouldnt be significant enuf to focus on as well, or should we be focused on temp agents moreso? Sheesh!

Not counting "shift dif" if they secure 3% above the November UAL ramp rate, it's between $6 and $7 from where we are now. Not $9.00.

Let's not over exaggerated there Mr "show me money" Nelson.

$24 + $9 = $33 i thought?
United has $33+ in their contract. Our cwa group has $32+. Southwest has $33+.

Not sure where you get only $7 if we sign a new ta.

Is Gordon Gecko your idol?

Must suck to lose almost a $100,000 a year job because of your hubris.

Did you not learn anything from UA TA1 and TA2?

So let me ask you for the SECOND time, since I am not an airline employee, nor work for the IAM nor involved in your negotiations how can mess them up?

You must be so scared of me, your fear shows.

Well if you want to wait till the END of those contracts in 2021 for our guys to agree to a deal because of your Barbie tantrums I'm going to be the one making videos against you. I can't believe or condone that you think we should wait till 2021 to strike a deal.

Weez if we don't get a positive update this week sounds like you will be receiving great pain and be the subject of one of Tim's video rants
Worldport Tim wants us to wait till 2021 to get a JCBA. $33 is at the END of those contracts he's talking about. I don't believe that the members should have to wait 5 years to get a deal. We have to strike while the irons hot. None of us can afford to wait as long as Tim wants to wait.

Would you join me in a video (I'll buy the beer) we have to stop this man with his crazy ideas.
