Again the only "real" reason you guys have such cheap medical is because your contract hose's the PT guys. If they were paying less right now I can guarantee you'd be paying more.

Thoughts? Are you guys ok with that continuing?
Part time $31 per hour, pension ,medical/dental flight benefits how many swaps a quarter?  sounds like a pretty good gig to me. I'd be real interested in BOB'S thoughts on this because more than likely he will be downgraded after he gets his

So you're saying you're ok with the PT paying double then? You do know that would be a major concession on the AA side since our PT pay the same rate as me.

We have a 30% PT cap in the TWU contract. So if we're currently at that cap that would mean screwing around 3000 TWU guys.

Or screwing all the US full timers because they would be paying more. A part time job is a part time job.

Meanwhile  we have plenty of Part-Time people working 60 hours a week and some Full-Time people working 15 hours a week.

That's their choice, are you suggesting a more restrictive swap policy? Lets say needing to work X amount of hours to qualify for benefits, that's fine by me.

Unfortunately I don't think there would be a way to base it individually on the hours a guy works? So it would have to stay with job status.

I'd be fine with our guys paying double to offset the cost of a guy with a family who has more of an interest in gaining a full time career working with the airline. But I'd want them to hopefully have a timeframe to try to at least gain FT. I don't think it would be fair to drop an immediate hammer on them.

What are they doing with passenger service any idea?

They have a percentage cap on their medical costs in their contract. They went nuts because they didn't understand that benefits enrollment had already started so that's what their rates were going to be no matter what for that year.

"Maybe" in the future we'll all be put under the same plan and with the amount of people who work at AA those plans should be at a lower cost. And since the company designated itself as a smoke free workplace they can also use that as a claim against pricier insurance costs.

Then explain why in maintenance where there is no part time and they have the cheaper insurance?

Are they paying the exact same rate as a FT Fleet (Specialist) ? And did you ever consider that those PTers are funding a subsidized rate for the entire collective represented by the IAM or even the entire airline to a small degree if all the other groups are in the same plan with the same rate?

Someone absolutely is benefitting from them paying more and it's not just the company since everyone works for it.

Well, part time paying double isn't going to be a no vote from me. Whats odd is that people here used to keep P/t turn down f/t just to have better days off. Now with wisdom of the TWUgh that won't be a factor any more

Average temperature in Winter in South Florida is a wonderful 74 degrees. And in FLL you can keep your IAM ball cap.
