They've already farmed out (or closed) 4 cargo points that I can think of...

All the more reason why your NC should be keeping all Scope language and the Flight Threshold LOA at the top of their list...

We definately need badging language. Paid time and appointments similar to cwa.

I'd like to keep both the language we currently have and also add the ability to do it off the clock if we chose. 2 hours every 2 years is not going to break the AA bank. What happens (sometimes) is when you go to do your badge manning doesn't replace you for that and your crew (friends) are the ones who get screwed. Now no the CC is not going to get in trouble if there's a delay but someone on the crew still winds up doing double the work while you're standing in that notoriously ridiculous long line waiting to get that required badge.

For me to come back and find that my crew had to pick up the slack bothers me.

In MIA they will pay you training time to do your lessons before or after your shift to make that burdon a little easier so why not include the badge in that process as well.

Now maybe the argument could be made that leaving the process on shift would generate more man hours but I doubt it would fly since the issue only comes up once every 2 years?

I think the cwa has both. Scheduling badging on an off day with pay is an option i believe. But i think most would rather just knock it out on a work day.

Probably an easier sell at the table as well, since any work outside your shift would be paid at 1.5x...

From an admin perspective, it might be easier to pre plot when people go, and cover them ahead of time. That's what we try to do here, but we also have the full month to get in there.

700, please, I will ask you right now stay out of my conversations. I speak with reps who have conversations with NC members every day. I would think they are hearing the same info...I have seen/heard what those two have had to say, and how do you know that's not exactly what I'm being told by others in negotiations...geez
This is a message board, learn the concept.

Most people I'm sure absolutely will prefer to do it on shift unless the 2 hour badge period were paid at OT rates.

The CWA agreement calls for the process to be done on shift. If your shift is during a time when that office is closed the company will pay you straight time to come in and get the renewal.

Any training we do here in MIA before or after shift is paid at straight time. Now remember many of those lessons are not the FAA mandatory need to be done on time lessons so the thought process is you can also do them as you have free time throughout the day. And in Jetnet you also have the ability to do them at home as well if you'd like. Of course that practice is discouraged since #1 doing them at home you're not being paid for work related activities and #2 doing them at home would provide less work hours for trainers to be staffed.

"Training Relief"

In DFW they have training relief staff. Dangerous Goods and Haz Mat are long lessons. When they roll around a Training CC comes to your gate and asks you if you want to do those lessons on your own and you'll be paid straight time OR you can sign on a sheet that you want to be relieved during your shift to get those lessons done. Then a van will come over with a whole crew to replace your crew so they can go and do those lessons.

That practice is not done in MIA and I don't know if it's done anywhere else?

I don't like coming in early or staying late off shift to do these mandatory lessons for lousy straight time. So I would like either a training relief crew or those two lessons especially should be paid OT.

It also appears since US took over that we have a lot more lessons that are taking a lot longer than the simple readers we got with the old AA. This is starting to become untenable and needs to be addressed. We had 7 due just the other day and 2 of them had over 80 pages to go through.

We ALL get a little too personal, emotional and manipulative on these boards for what I "really" would prefer.

He's not a boy. He's a man who has a wealth of knowledge that I've tapped into and have many phone conversations with as well. We don't always agree with each other but I know we respect each other.

And BTW I'm the one who suggested that he should take his gloves back off the last few days. He certainly was itching to do that and at least one poster really had it coming. (Not you)

So calling someone names which is an insult is using manners?

And going over to the mechanics thread and posting the same attack is using manners?

Take your own advice and grow up.

I have tolerated the clown better than many. The man has knowledge, no doubt. But while the clown was absorbing that knowledge, he either neglected or right out ignored people skills, manners, admitting he was wrong, being apologetic, avoiding hypocrite traits...and those are just a few. Since the clown won't change his condescending ways, I'm officially on the clowns screw him list. Remember, this is the same clown who told me to learn a contract when he said LUS would board before LAA because it was in their contract.

Still waiting CLOWN!
