As some of you know DFW is once again on a hiring spree. Just the other day a bud of mine attended the union meeting and the biggest bone of contention was that LUS put in a request to increase day flights. I can't help think that those who are hired in the future will go to the US side. Is this happening in any other city?

Annotok. I put blame on all parties but in this particular case you may recall that it took the Feds a long time to certify both union groups into one Association. Then when the first meeting was held the donkeys in DFW simply were not prepared. Then UAL got an awful contract. Only to reopen it n modify it. Meanwhile during that time yes our Association did have n should have continued talks. But as Prez said. It'd be great if each of us did just witness it. I blame all parties but in this case I think mgmt is more or less the ones causing delays.

It's Friday night that's Tim's "Ketle One" night. I think he's getting fired up.  The worst song ever is "the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
I've had a bottle of Kettle one in the freezer for 3 years. It's still there. OTOH, I've gone through quite a few bottles of Jack and Honey. But I also like free drinks and in that case I have had some vodka and also some scotch. The thing about Javits is that our contract at the IAM says specifically that all questions from members will be addressed by the seniority integration committee. Javits is violating the contract.

In ORD, from my perspective, management has been fair between the two Labor organizations. A bit of hiring on both sides. ORD is a station that had the cross utilization invoked some time ago. The TWU does all running other than the local bags coming off, and maintains our transfer belts. We maintain our local bags from the bagroom. And the LAA also does our INTL flight to Dublin. LUS metal, mostly comes to 3 gates, so LUS doesn't have to run around or get transported to various concourses. The communication stays open as all 3 parties meet often, i.e., TWU, IAM, Local management. PHX manager Dale Salisbury has worked through a lot of the issues and has listened and we have had few issues unresolved. In fact, this is the best management/labor relationship that I have seen in 20 years at ORD. Not sure if it is a reflection of the VP here or if it's a completely different management style systemwide that I am not used to. Previously, I know I've read on here and have heard some things about Dale, not saying the previous reports out of PHX were lies, but thus far things have not been contentious between the IAM committee/management/TWU Local and Dale has been a big part of that, and I very seldom give management any credit. Of course, I can't speak for LAA in ORD as I am clueless about Labor activity over there other than receiving the TWU Local updates which seem informative. The TWU Local here does seem very connected to the issues for LAA.

Our seniority Agreement says that all seniority issues, disputes, and challenges will be handled by the seniority integration committee (signed April, 2013 by Sito and Little. Section 4) . So exactly why would they break the contract and Seniority Letter and contract it out to a 3rd party for hire?
FWIW: Mr Javits was a partner at the very anti union lawfirm of Ford & Harrison. Prior to that he was appointed by George Bush to the NMB, and his NMB board made a series of horrible anti union decisions.

Dude, it was'nt handed off to a third party, it is to be reviewed, and checked for fairness. I take no issue with this, why should you.

I have an issue with it due to what Javits said, i.e,

"6. I will consider all timely filed protests and issue a final and binding determination with respect to each. After deciding all protests, I will issue final integrated seniority lists, incorporating any necessary adjustments or corrections in light of my protest determinations. It is intended that the final lists will issue by December 1, 2016. "

This appears more than a recommendation and review. At United, he had binding determination and according to his letter, he has final determination. It is an issue with me since my contract gives that authority exclusively to a TWU/IAM seniority integration committee.

Thinking your reading between the lines. Are you afraid you might get whacked out of time?

And just how was that done, I guess I missed the memo that was passed around.

my seniority was barely adjusted as I only lost 3 months. Has nothing to do with me. I'm not reading in between the lines, I'm reading the lines, maybe too literal but it does need clarifying. If they posted a Letter of agreement then that will solve it and that's what we are missing. Why can't they disclose that agreement? They should be willing to. It will matter to those who will be disappointed in this process and have challenges presented to Javits.
