I got this from the amfatulsa bb :

From APA Website:

JIM LITTLE, TWU: I am very sorry to report that Jim Little, International Vice President of the Transport Workers Union, has been diagnosed with lymphoma. While I do not have any further specifics, as soon as there is additional information about Jim’s condition, we will share it with you.

Hodgkin's disease aka Lymphoma

Hodgkin's disease — also known as Hodgkin's lymphoma — is an uncommon cancer of the lymphatic system. It's named after the British physician Thomas Hodgkin, who first described the disease in 1832 and noted several characteristics that distinguish it from other lymphomas.

In Hodgkin's disease, cells in the lymphatic system grow abnormally and may spread beyond the lymphatic system. As the disease progresses, it compromises your body's ability to fight infection and symptoms appear. Many initial signs and symptoms may be similar to those of influenza, such as fever, fatigue and night sweats. Eventually, tumors develop. Hodgkin's disease mostly affects people between the ages of 15 and 24 and people older than age 55.

Hodgkin's disease is one of two general types of cancers of the lymphatic system. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the other type, is far more common. In 2001, there were about 7,400 new cases of Hodgkin's disease and about 1,300 deaths due to Hodgkin's disease in the United States. There were about 56,200 new cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and about 26,300 deaths due to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Before 1970 few people with diagnosed Hodgkin's disease recovered. Today, more than 80 percent of people who receive initial treatment experience a complete remission. Advances in diagnosis, staging and treatment of Hodgkin's disease have helped to make this once uniformly fatal disease highly treatable with potential for full recovery.

Within 15 years following treatment, many of the people who die do so because of complications of the treatment, such as secondary cancers and heart failure, rather than of the disease itself. The challenge for researchers is to decrease the long-term complications of treatment without compromising the effectiveness of the therapy.

Prayers for Jim Little. I'm sorry to hear of his illness.

Is anyone keeping track of how many airline employees have had cancer? I can think of quite a few just off the top of my head. Is it because so many of us are in the "older" catagory? Is it something to do with exposure to certain chemicals or other enviromental causes? Chronic stress (which lowers the immune system)?

Again, I wish the best for Jim and his family.

Dea

Jim Little is a dispatcher and the only chemicals he was probably exposed to was printer ink.
Jim Little has single handedly set us back 50 years and I'm supposed to pray for him?
I don't wish him ill but pray for him?........I'd be a hypocrite.
Sorry, I can't. You all can go ahead. Pray for Bin-Laden also, he's rumored to be sick.
I'm sure Jim's family won't suffer financially as much as anyone of ours would.

TonyB...you one sick man..wait and see what life brings you....your post will be copied and put up at work as an AMFA slogan...good job A$$.

I didn't see AMFA mentioned anywhere in Tony's post. As far as I know, he is still a TWU member so that would make his post the honest opinion of a disgruntled TWU member, no? Unless you want to be totally dishonest, which we all know you would never do, right Drippy?

I know this brainchild..TonyB DOES represent AMFA and he does it very poorly. I see why you would want to distant yourself from him, however, look for his posts at work with the big ole AMFA NOW next to his name.

TonyB, Its sad day when a fellow brother, Union Member, states what you stated about another person, human, that has fallen ill.
And to say he Single handedly set you back 50 years, I feel sorry for you. Jim is our prayers, and yes, Probably in Delles prayers also, No one human that has feelings for another human, person could ever feel that or say what you said, You are the Hypocrit Tony B
No Matter what you think of the TWU, I can say with all honesty, Jim worked for all his members, the same as you say Delle works for you, How many times has Jim gone to capitol hill to ask for aid for the union workers, fought with management to save jobs, increase our benefits and save all of us? Its always a Thankless job as Im sure Delle will tell all of you,
No matter who the person you say might be, I would never wish illness or death to any, I wont ask you to pray, but I will ask all others to Keep Jim and his family in your prayers

When it was Ed Koziatek, TWU sucked.

When it was John Orlando, TWU sucked.

When it was Sonny Hall, TWU sucked.

When it was Ron "Ace" Davis, TWU sucked.

The problem is not the person, the problem is the structure.

Please, regardless of your feelings about the TWU, do not wish harm and illness upon a fellow human. We should ALL give Mr. Little the respect he deserves as he battles for life.

There are more important things in life than Unions and Paychecks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who thinks otherwise, should read about the Golden Rule. B)

Just in Case this is Needed

The Golden Rule
The Golden Rule or the ethic of reciprocity is found in the scriptures of nearly every religion. It is often regarded as the most concise and general principle of ethics. It is a condensation in one principle of all longer lists of ordinances such as the Decalogue.

Christianity: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Summations by the author of this article did not include the following comparable statement of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, King James version, which says a bit more that what the author is representing under Christianity
It is found in the book of Matthew, Chapter 7 verse 12, and says
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Judaism and Christianity. Bible, Leviticus 19.18

Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.
Christianity. Bible, Matthew 7.12

Not one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.
Islam. Forty Hadith of an-Nawawi 13

A man should wander about treating all creatures as he himself would be treated.
Jainism. Sutrakritanga 1.11.33

Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the shortest way to benevolence.
Confucianism. Mencius VII.A.4

One should not behave towards others in a way which is disagreeable to oneself. This is the essence of morality. All other activities are due to selfish desire.
Hinduism. Mahabharata, Anusasana Parva 113.8

One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird should first try it on himself to feel how it hurts.
African Traditional Religions. Yoruba Proverb (Nigeria)

One who you think should be hit is none else but you. One who you think should be governed is none else but you. One who you think should be tortured is none else but you. One who you think should be enslaved is none else but you. One who you think should be killed is none else but you. A sage is ingenuous and leads his life after comprehending the parity of the killed and the killer. Therefore, neither does he cause violence to others nor does he make others do so.
Jainism. Acarangasutra 5.101-2

The Ariyan disciple thus reflects, Here am I, fond of my life, not wanting to die, fond of pleasure and averse from pain. Suppose someone should rob me of my life... it would not be a thing pleasing and delightful to me. If I, in my turn, should rob of his life one fond of his life, not wanting to die, one fond of pleasure and averse from pain, it would not be a thing pleasing or delightful to him. For a state that is not pleasant or delightful to me must also be to him also; and a state that is not pleasing or delightful to me, how could I inflict that upon another?

As a result of such reflection he himself abstains from taking the life of creatures and he encourages others so to abstain, and speaks in praise of so abstaining.
Buddhism. Samyutta Nikaya v.353

A certain heathen came to Shammai and said to him, Make me a proselyte, on condition that you teach me the whole Torah while I stand on one foot. Thereupon he repulsed him with the rod which was in his hand. When he went to Hillel, he said to him, What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor: that is the whole Torah; all the rest of it is commentary; go and learn.
Judaism. Talmud, Shabbat 31a

Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Christianity. Bible, Matthew 22.36-40

THAT ABOUT SUMS IT UP?

I've never liked to sugar coat my opinion and I'm too old to start now. You can all play nice and hug each other and sing Kumbaya. Be my guest. You don't need my permission. However,....
...if any one can point out where I wish Jim Little ill please quote and post it; otherwise take a hike! B)

Yea that's right let's blame it on AMFA!! Tony B wished no ill harm and I do not either but I truely believe .........................

Nice going Tony. You are a sick individual. I wouldn't wish any of this on you or any one else. I will not bring myself down to your level. A human being is a human being. Even boxers shake hands and respect each other after the business of fighting is over. You are a sick individual and mentally unstable for even making a comment like that. There is no place for individuals like yourself here in this forum or any other place. You need to reevalute your moral standings. I am not a fan of Jim Little, but I would never wish this on him or even kick him when he is down.

Gee, what good will that do? I'm sure he is so scared of you.

Don't get me wrong. I don't wish ill on anyone.

Wow! Did this thread take a wrong turn or what? You can absolutely NOT sympathize with any person and it doesn't automatically mean you wish them ill will. However, we could all go back in the archives and take a look at what was said about the "rag heads" and the "towel heads" and the "hanky heads" right after nine eleven and find that just about no one in here has halo enough to cast the first stone. Some pretty awful things were posted and even though much of it was deleted to the moderators' credit, enough of it stayed up long enough for the bulk of the visitors here to be disgusted.

BTW RV, you forgot the Catholics in your rant:

Catholicism: "Everyone will go to hell but us!"

Have a great week y'all! ;)
