US Airways reported record second-quarter profits Wednesday, posting a net profit of $306 million for the three-month period ending June 30, compared to $106 million for the same period in 2011.

US Airways is the largest carrier at Philadelphia International Airport.

"Consumer demand for our product remained strong during the second quarter, resulting in record revenue, passenger yields and unit revenue performance," CEO Doug Parker said in a statement. "These results speak volumes about the collective efforts of our 32,000 employees, who continue to run an outstanding airline for our customers. Thanks to their hard work, we have set numerous company records in operating reliability, including our best-ever year-to-date performance in on-time arrivals, baggage handling and completion factor."

The bottom line was aided by lower fuel prices. Total average fuel price per gallon fell 3.5 percent versus last year, to $3.18 per gallon, the airline said.

Record profit and usapa is not even at the table to capture a penny. Nice leadership east pilots.

Injunction, parked, same old infighting and the company talking to a different union.

Hummel is going to screw us, why is he talking to the APA and Parker by himself and has been lying to the BPR with the DCA and one PHL rep being OK with that. Great transparency!!!!!!

All I can say is as long as we stay divided, no contract, no raise, no increased benefits, never, ever.
As long as we are perceived be happy this will go on until we are all retired and gone.
All it takes is some leadership that is willing to put it out on the table, the membership will follow.

Talking points..

Have you not seen what the east has put together the last few years?

It was predicted that they would mess this up for themselves and the rest of us as their history has so proven them capable of doing.

They haven't missed a beat.

We're lucky they've been marginalized in this upcoming merger so that the east can be saved from themselves.

STFU luv.

You seem to conveniently forget Cleary and the crap he pulled when he was in office.

And he defined USAPA's version of "transparency".

So go back to your chicken and CTFD.

Ok 9, you have the floor. Spell out how he is going to screw us.

You were on LOA 93 when this all started, I never voted for it, what have you lost? MM[/background]

MM,

I guess that meant something to you, but you are not that good at writing to make your point to me.

Who was it that filed the lawsuit in NY without board approval? Cleary or Hummel. What was the result.

Who was it that meet with Ferguson in secret in DFW to discuss seniority without telling anyone? Cleary or Hummel

Who was it that went to talk to Parker before the United merger was announced without telling the BPR? Cleary or Hummel.

Do you know for a FACT that Hummel talked to Parker and the APA alone? Or is it crew room rumor?

Hey Jim,

The company just said on the investor conference call they reached an agreement to acquire 5 more E190s. Want to look at those bids again?

If I heard it right we will lose 2 bigger aircraft when we retire 14 737s and only get 12 A321s, which I guess takes the east to the min fleet.

No press release on it.

It was on the investor conference call. Still subject to some details I think, call quality not too good.

They just said that the fleet will be up by the 5 190s next year, flat for the rest with A330s replacing smaller A/C.
