Did you ever notice the group that says seniority is like crew meals is probably on average 10 lbs lighter appearing in the crew vids? The Westoffs have eaten a few too many by the looks of things.

No, because it took a lot of east votes to beat her that badly and I believe most easties enjoyed the fact that she sold outthe west on the distance learning grievance. From what I've seen, she's had it coming for a long time.

hmmm...let me guess..they are going to say that LCC was unable to complete the AWA takeover of US, and needs to cave to scab demands prior to any further aquisitions.

That is what I would say if I were an idiot who has no idea of my position and the fact that the merger was indeed completed, wrapped up, single carrier status, done deal, finito about 4 years ago. The only loose end being that 2/3rds of the pilot group decided they did not want a new contract, and wished to remain on their LOA93 in perpetuity, or until it became obvious that what everybody told them,...i.e. its called binding arbitration for a reason...was about to come home to roast in another merger.

I'm sure if they keep lawyer shopping they'll eventually find something....it will get them sued again but since when has that stopped those idiots?

Sound like any group of pilots we all know who were going to trade a "cost neutral contract" to steal the West's seniority? Oh, and in attempting to do so, found themselves locked into the crappiest contract in the entire industry?

Oh, forgot to mention that same group attacked individual pilots careers, families and the profession in general.

You guys mix and match terms. "Certainly WOULD have....." but we didn't. "Had no career expectations....." but we are still working for the airline.

Why do you never mention the other part that changes everything? "Certainly WOULD have"...without the merger. "Had no career expectations"...without the merger. You talk like US had the world by the tail, would have emerged from bankruptcy as a stand-alone carrier and been profitable. BUT, in a fit of altruism Lakefield stooped to merging with HP just to keep HP from going under. The merger changed everything for everyone on both sides - east went from sure liquidation with the only realistic expectation being to be in the unemployment line. West went from growth to shrinkage as east got the benefits of the merger.

You never mention that Nicolau put many, many west guys in line to get positions they NEVER had an expectation of. Why did the west qualify for non-existent expectations, but not the east? Human nature I guess. I think Brucia nailed it, but he had no power, just words. Kinda like us! :blush:

So you want the expectations you DIDN'T have before the merger was announced but complain about the west wanting something from the merger also. Sorta one sided, wouldn't you say? Oh, that's right - "I get what I want while the west doesn't get anything" is the east mantra....

The merger created a chance for a win-win but that isn't good enough for the entitled east - they want all the gains and for the west to suffer all the loses...
