Probably because they offer little if any real value to their members. If they ever actually delivered on a contract that had a raise in it they might make more.

Here's an idea, why not put Buffeberger on Commission?pay him 50K in Salary and the rest commission!!! Pay him x number of dollars for every new company that's organized? Then he also gets comped on each new dues paying member? That way once he learns how capitalism actually works he'll be better able to relate to CEO's and members.

The reason CEO's get monster bonus checks is because the shareholder/investors are provided with a return on investment.

Now I would think it would be in every union members best interest to have a union that's growing, organizing and delivering value to those who pay dues. Afterall if union membership rises to 1 million from say 750,000 that's a 25% increase. If the union is skilled at controlling cost which only rise 10% then who in their right mind would quarrel with say Buffenberger getting bonus equal to his salary? Not me that's for sure. If he delivers a certain percentage of contracts with raises, who would complain if he got an extra 100K?

Yes! Members were killed in the coalfields and steel mill gates and we owe the 40 hour week to Labor. This is all grand and good but it all happened before I was born. So I ask what have you done for me lately?
