I just spoke to a friend whose cousin in crew resource management in PHX. He said that the LGA crew base will be oloing in sometiim in the first quarter of2008, They announce it after Christmas. Should not come as a shock to most people on here Ju

i just can't see it. i would not be surprised if it were closing though. but she could have waited till maybe... the day after thnksgiving to post this. but time will tell. happy thanksgiving guys .

etops1, I thought the same but you should know by now how the people on this board and I'm sure you know LOVE to post GLOOM. They get a high satisfation, a rush posting anything negative that they know will ruin or put worry in many fellow employees. It's amazing what you read and the tone of a post when you can "hide" behind a screen name. I'm with your thought etops1...if true and it maybe...let families get throught the holidays with their loved ones and not put anymore fear in their life that they already know exisits with this airline or other carriers in this industry. Especially when it's one of those "I heard" from a great source that is a golfing friend of someone who cleans the restrooms in CLT thing....

Lets enjoy what good things we have in our lives and not inject rumors this time of the year when we are trying to enjoy what is really important in our lives....are families.

Oh so now I am being crucified on posting what I heard. AS I said, it is just what my friend heard from their cousin. Look back at the postings on this borad, people always post rumours on what they hear. Now all of a suddent I am being crucified about posting something heard when it is the same thing that eveyone else has always posted on here. This board is full of what people have heard etc postings.

ya know, usually with this company the rumors have a way of becoming a reality. There were rumors going around for months about the closure of the facility where I once worked, and the management kept denying it. Then, "unexpectedly" it closed. The culture at US Airways since the mid-80's has been to promote fear& uncertainty when it pertains to job security, especially if it is a senior location. As far as timing of the rumors, well I wonder who plants the seed?

I hope it's not true, I wish no one the hardship of losing their job, but maybe use the rumor to "hedge your options"

Oh, and ruin everyone's Christmas? How about posting it on January 22nd? No, that would ruin their St. Ildephonsus Day on the 23rd.

Let's face it. If the rumor is true, there ain't gonna be a good time to post it. Unless of course your LGA base is like ours--just about everyone is trying to get enough seniority to transfer out of it. 🙄

Well, that one is true. My wife's stepdaughter went to college with the cousin of the son of Doug Parker's auto mechanic, and that's what Doug told him. So it must be true.

And my two cents on the next bast closings. LGA will be next. They are already starting to scale it down. They pulled all of the 321 extra lines out of there for the month of Dec. That is how it begins....

..............extra lines were PULLED from several bases. SPIN ON.

Then a tread was started about Southwest possibly PULLING benefits...what happened there? Why wasnt there a CBS from the company? Hoax? THAT (possible) RUMOR took up 6 pages of comments.
