In his letter to the employees, American Airlines Chairman and CEO Gerard Arpey set forth the following timetable, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the extra legroom on the AA 777:

In addition, according to both Arpey and the press release, AA is adding only a portion of the coach seats previously removed. It is not going to be as comfortable as MRTC or Economy Plus, but is should still be a cut above Continental's Sardine Class configuration and probably roomier than Delta as well.

You are correct about the timetable.

You are incorrect that the 767s and 777s will have only a portion of their seats re-installed. Arpey made clear in the conference call yesterday that the "portion" language only applied to the MD-80s and the 738s. The 767s and the 777s get all the seats back.

And we'll have to disagree on the relative comfort of AA's 31 inch pitch v. the same 31 inch pitch on DL and CO. 31 inches looks to me like 31 inches. B)

FAMikey is probably correct about the 738s, but to add the two new port side F seats on the MD-80s, the forward coach rows (forward of the emergency exits), at least on the AB side, may need to give up some of their MRTC to fit the new 6AB. Perhaps not all of the extra space, 6AB may take some of it.
